Florida/Auburn Reaction (Merged)

At first, I thought Leak tried to pump fake and lost the handle. However, after seeing it from another angle, it looked to me like an incomplete pass. However, the ball came out of his hand aimed at the ground. Had the linebacker not been in front of him, that ball would have travelled all of two feet. Still, an intentional grounding penalty would be preferable to a turnover.

I have to disagree with OrangeandBlue here. I do think Auburn deserved to win tonight. I'd love another chance at them, though. In neutral territory.
LG is being realistic.Besides LG, the Gators are still in good shape as far as SECE standings. It's not a death penalty!

I'm afraid you're wrong good sir. He was attempting to toss it to our TE right in front of him. His arm was moving forward when the ball came out.

True, his arm was moving forward . . . but from what I saw he was obviously still holding the football and bringing it down. You could tell he wasn't going to throw it.

If that was supposed to be a forward pass, he was going to release it somewhere around his ankles.

Even if it was a pass, it still looked like the ball was a lateral, notice where the ball hits compared to where Leak "threw" it. Either way its a fumble.

I hadn't even noticed that. I'll try to watch for that one of the next 50 times that I see the replay. :)

I think if those UGA defensive ends get pressure on Leak, UGA can definitely win that game. Will they? That remains to be seen, but it could very well happen.

As a ut fan, I am hoping that uga will beat uf. As a rationale human being, I realize that this is not going to happen. Ladies and gentleman, uga is *terrible* . You can't win if you can't score (think UT 2005).

Haha. Riiiight! He was about to throw it. He saw the defender right on him and did not want to throw the ball and it get deflected so he tried to pull his pass back. When he did the momentum/fixing to get hammered caused him to drop the ball. By the rules they use in the NCAA that is a fumble.

Bottom line is Leak blew the game, he choked under pressure and you guys lost to a better team. And just so you guys know, the better team did not win back in September. I'd love to have another crack at you guys.

On third-and-3 from the 6, Leak started to throw then decided to hold on as Auburn's Quentin Groves applied pressure. The ball squirted from Leak's hand and linebacker Tray Blackmon scooped it up. Blackmon was playing in his first game of the season after a six-game suspension.
Meyer said there was plenty of blame to go around despite Leak's uncharacteristic mistakes.
"When you face a pass rush like that in this type of environment, bad things can happen," Meyer said.

Florida managed only 85 yards and five first downs after halftime. Leak completed just 9-of-17 passes for 108 yards and a touchdown.

Enuff said

Here are my thoughts after the game, THE biggest question is what effect that second half has on Leak for the rest of the season. Does the ensuing controversy that will come about leak/tebow start to break up a team that was showing teams a very cohesive unit? Does leak downward spiral from now on? Is everytime tebow comes in now percieved as a lack in confidence, where before it was just a play call?

How hypocritical. You respond to my excuse with the score of the game, and then exude your own excuse for a game you lost. So, I guess to keep order, I should post the score of our game too...

Florida 21
Tennessee 20

It's not an excuse, it's a fact....The better team didn't win that game, if we had another crack at you guys I'd gurantee us a win....But we don't get it....I guess we'll find out how good you guys really are in the coming weeks....See how you react to a loss

On September 16th, Florida was clearly CLEARLY the better team.

On October 15th, who knows?

However, if you don't see the truth from 9/16, you never will.

I'd like to echo what LIO said earlier...how pathetic is it that sore losers like O&B have to go to an opponent's message board to talk junk after a loss? I'm sure there were plenty of Vols hanging out on Cal message boards after the UF loss, just as I'm sure there were plenty of UGA fans hanging out on Colorado boards after the Vandy loss...NOT.

And let me clarify that I don't lump lawgator in with that lot, because he is a pretty reasonable guy about 95% of the time. Although I still find it peculiar that he's averaged like 6 posts per day for the past year on a UT board...

I got banned from all the Gator boards for things like not being bothered by the fact that we are ranked behind you in some of the polls. Most Gator fans would be throwing bricks through voters' windows. But not me!!!

I'm planning on burning down their homes.

Polls look really funny this week. UT ahead of UF in one poll. CAL ahead of UT in the BCS. College rankings certainly do genearte alot of discussion. Things that make say hhmmm....

It's almost as if the BCS was designed to make people talk about college football.

good thread...lots of would've could've should'ves thru out....

the fumble/inc. pass...at first i thought it was a bad call, but after seeing the replay, the thing that stuck out to me about it was that the ball came out at it's lowest point, and his arm was still. almost like he was about to bring it back up...but he never did...for that split second his arm was motionless and the ball just came out. Definitely a weird way to fumble the ball...and i agree with GAVol, if it were a pass it was headed toward his ankles...it was a tough call either way...and i could see another crew calling it an incomplete pass...

but even after that, LG is right...just stop 'em with that great D you supposedly have...

oh well. all we can do now is hope SC or GA can muster up a huge upset, and that we can win out....
