Florida Gators Recruiting Class

150 on 247? None are top 250 on rivals.

Do you honestly think Williams is better than Ray Ray?

Rivals is a complete joke with their preseason rankings. They have TJ Simmons raked ahead of Frazier at RB. Lol

As for Ray Ray and Williams they are about the same in my eyes. Both are fast and can catch the ball out the backfield or slot..both play against suspect comp.

I'm not sure how anyone can put a positive spin of UF's biggest recruiting event resulting in multiple decommits and no notable verbals...unless you consider 3* WR Kalif Jackson notable.

It's unprecedented.

You don't follow recruiting much LW?

Those guys hadn't spoke to staff in over a month. UF moved on from all but Lewis. But his decommitment as expected.after he decided against the transfer to IMG.

As for FNL we haven't got a huge public commit since 2012. Gerald Willis went silent last yr if that counts. The rumor is Horton and Raquan Smith committed but haven't gone public. Staff has had better results the last few yrs at Coaches camp or Jr days vs FNL.

I don't follow recruiting as thoroughly as you do. I readily admit that.

There just appears to be negative momentum around UF's recruiting. Whether that's actually true or not is as important as how it's being perceived and how other coaching staffs appear to successfully exploit that perception.

I reserve the right to be 100% wrong, but when we're offering WRs who are considering Duke and Rutgers, you can't help but wonder what's going on with bigger fish like Campbell.

offered at "B" position which is more of a hybrid TE. Plan B for Alden Tate and TE who committed to ND. Btw he is ranked higher tan all of the previous WR commits. Campbell and Vaon are top WR on board. Show anything on O and UF lands at least one. Most likely Campbell.

I've said it before that perception is everything in recruiting. Reason missing on Ray Ray hurt so much.

Fair enough on Jackson. However if he's slated to play the TE hybrid position, someone needs to lock him in a veal box until the 2016 season.

Kid looks frail in pictures.

2014 TE Moral Stephens was 205 heading into Sr season..up to 235 now after enrolling early so its possible.

So I've been visiting this site off and on for about 5 years now, mostly in the preseason when I'm desperate for football, and it is ridiculous how hilariously over-the-top negative some of the UF posters have become, seemingly, to appease the vol masses.

Here is the bottom line for UF recruiting in 2014:

If UF has a decent season, they are going to clean up and have a top 5 recruiting class. They are in it on multiple 4 and 5 star guys, but most of them wonÂ’t commit until much later in the process, and many (especially offensive players), like McCloud, Williams, and Cain (their recruitments are in no way over) are in wait and see mode on the progress of the Florida offense.

If they have a not so great season, and Muschamp is let go, then obviously they wonÂ’t have very good recruiting, because transition years are always tough, but it will still be in the top 15-20 at the end of the year, because Florida is relatively east to recruit, and there are highly rated guys that are going to go to Florida regardless of who the coach is.

If Florida wins 8-9 games, which is not in any way outside the realm of possibility, they will have a sick DL and LB class, a very strong OL class. They already have a good QB locked up, which is great considering that they had two other good QBÂ’s last year. The only positions that look murkier right now are RB, WR, and DB. UF took a bunch of DBÂ’s last cycle, so you wonÂ’t see a ton in this one, and the RB and WR boards will look a lot different in October and November if UF is having a decent season.

So much is dependent on on-the-field results this year that trying to project the recruiting class is just foolish at this point.

IMO, they're not here to appease us. Lord knows that would be a cold day in hell before a Gator ever does that for a Vol.

I believe they are being realistic and not setting the expectation levels too high at this point. UF is coming off it's worst season since 1979, the schedule is unforgiving this upcoming season and the offense is under a new OC yet again.

You say 8 or 9 wins and that may be possible but CWM will have to improve significantly in his coaching decisions and the ball will have to bounce UF's way in several games to reach that goal.

Honestly, if the team just stays healthy, UF is going to win 7, pretty much regardless of anything Muschamp does.

Florida averaged 25 and 26 PPG in 2011 and 2012. The 18.8 PPG they averaged in 2013 was an aberration based mostly on critical injuries and a split in the offensive staff. That statistic will improve, whether you want to believe it will or not.

Also, in the past two days, UF has pulled some pretty strong recruits in Horton and Thomas, so I think the rumors of their recruiting demise have been greatly exaggerated.

I'm not ruling out the possibility that UF couldn't completely implode, it's definitely possible, but given the roster, the new offensive coaches, and the overall health of the team, thinks are looking pretty positive.

More coming soon.

We'll get no sympathy here so explaining is pointless.

They'll see soon enough.

8+ Wins and they'll be blowing up CWM phone to commit.

It's hard to recruit star offensive power when the average shelf life of your offensive coordinator position is 46 weeks, your offense has been so bad that you couldn't compete with Georgia Southern, and you're proclaiming you staff change as brilliant because you stole from Duke.

I'm open minded but am expecting to be disgusted by another hapless offense this year.

Just to remind you - you stole your best HC from Duke

Why would you come here looking for it?
Some of your very own fans may be right about the recruiting and the direction of the program under WM. He s got a whole lot more to prove than he has success to fall back on so some of their sentiments have some weight.

He may win 10 games this year and sign a top 5 class. But it wouldnt surprise many if he won 6 or 7 and was never around to see NSD.

Just a couple things: If Lawrence Wright was just trying to appease Vol fans with his posts he wouldn't have picked the handle "Lawrence Wright"....Everybody remembers the Joey Kent hit so it's an obvious dig...AFL2008 is right with most of what he says but seems to have a surprising amount of confidence in Kurt Roper. He has been nothing more than a clipboard holder for Cutcliffe and Florida's problems hiring OC's has reached epic proportions but you will still recruit well though just because of where you are. Finally, I like HialeahGator he is one of the best rivals on here and has first rate and interesting info.

He likes UM but doesn't want to be part of a 4 RB class. Wad close to flipping at FNL. The more he shows to campus the better the chances become. Imo it will play out like Dante Fowler.
