Good points, except Jacksonville is a de facto home game...kind of like TN playing ARK in Oak Ridge or Marysville.

More like Chattanooga.

Still, the point is that very other year they play 3 SEC home games instead of 4, so they'd rather play a cupcake at home than get into a home and away deal with an OOC opponent. and as long as FSU is on the back of the schedule, it's hard to blame them.

It isn't always the same, you yourself acknowledge that UT does win somewhere between 20-25% of the games against UF.

That is right around what should be expected when two teams meet and one consistently has more talent than the other.

I tend to deal in just a smidge of hyperbole when it comes to the UT-UF series. You may have noticed. 😊

Jacksonville is not a de facto home game.

It's a 50-50 ticket split in a city that is as close to the state line as you can get.

People began making a big deal out of it when Florida actually began winning the game.

Prior to 1990, Georgia beat Florida on an almost yearly basis.

Very dull to have this be the same never change it.

It's all good, that series of games absolutely wears me out, for reasons that I have outlined previously.

For those who don't believe that this year is the year to end the 9 year skid, let me offer you some hope.

Ten years ago I, a UT grad, married a gator. It was at that time that UT fell into a slump against those swamp monsters. This year, my wife and I are having our first child, a daughter. Our daughter is scheduled to be born on or about the UT-UF game. I feel that this is the year that everything changes. With a little luck, I will hoist my daughter into the air in the delivery room just as the fourth quarter ends, the umbilical cord is cut (by our physician who is a UT grad), and the goal posts come down in Neyland.

Yes, the sweet tune of Rocky Top will be the first sound my daughter hears from my lips.

It will look a little something like this (I'm the baboon, obviously)...

Florida throws a fit hearing rocky top after a vols victory in the swamp.
They've celebrated using our stadium including was it jump in the stands 2012.

Insulting rocky top took it to a whole other level of hate for the damn freakin accursed gators.
