Florida Having Trouble Selling Tickets

No it wasn't....The sun has fried your memory...UF couldn't draw flies back in those days...I guess you don't remember the ARBYs promotion back then do you? :birgits_giggle:

You are full of $hit...seriously...

UF drew 70K consistently when I was in school. Capacity was around 72K before the north end zone addition, Touchdown Terrace and Champions Club.

And I drove past that Arby's every day on my way to campus. They used to show The Simpsons back before the local cable company carried the station it was on...place was always packed on Sunday.

Compared to Dolphins fans and Jags fans, it's hardly a stretch.

Jags fans are a bunch of D Bags. I lived in J'Ville for a few years. Worked security for the Jags games. I couldn't believe how stupid they acted towards their own players. Jags drafted James "Little Man" Stewart and every time he walked onto the field he got boo'd by the Jags fans. Classless bunch of ****bags IMO.

Other than their sports fans, I actually really enjoyed living in Jacksonville though.

I grew up in Jacksonville watching the Florida-Georgia game since I can remember, and I've found the entire NFL experience to be overrated.

College = cute coeds and marching bands
NFL = fat guys wearing jerseys and piped in music

Advantage: College

^That's true.

I'll tell you this. As much as I hate the gators, I did like driving through Gainesville. The town really isn't much to speak of, but MAN!!! the girls sure were good to look at.

No doubt.

At NFL games, there's a couple dozen gals worth looking at instead of the game, and they're on the field cheering.

At SEC games, there's at least ten to fifteen thousand gals worth looking at, and they're in the student section cheering...unless of course you're at a Vandy home game.

I will sort of disagree with you on the Vandy home game thing.....well not completly. If it is a Vandy home game vs UT the stadium is full of VOLS fans, so the pretty women ratio goes back up....lol.

UT @ Vandy games 2/3 of the stadium is Orange and White. It's like a second home game for us. :birgits_giggle:

The next time UT plays at Ole Miss, do yourself a favor and make the trip. :devilsmoke:

Haven't been there. Is it worth the trip?

Was in the Swamp for the 2001 UT win. Was still living in Jax then. Was actually a good time. Tailgated with FL fans (complete strangers) before and after the game. While they weren't happy about the loss, they all readily admitted that not only did UT win, but actually beat them worse than the score showed.

Go to Oxford...you won't regret it. The coeds are beautiful, and you'll lose count of the short and sometimes sheer sundresses prancing around The Grove.

And I'll readily admit UF got some gift calls in the '01 game. A Grossman fumble that was called an incomplete pass immediately comes to mind. UT just flat outplayed us that night.

I'm all about short shorts and sheer sundresses on fine young co-eds. Guess I need to start planning a road trip.

Like all fan bases, FL has some jack wagon fans. But most of the FL fans I met were good people. They of course did the obligatory smack talk that all fans do, but were friendly folks. The d'bags I ignored, just like I do the TN fans that are d'bags.

I actually saw one of UT's campus grounds keepers/maintenance men (not football related, but just for the campus at large) mowing the other day with an Alabama hat on. I have to admit it was one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen in my life, and I say that in all sincerity not just casual disgust. If I was his boss, I would have told him to remove the cap. That kind of crap does not reflect well on the university, and, quite frankly, just makes you look like a jackwagon.

Edit: To be fair, the guy was on a riding-mower on the stretch of ground between Neyland parking deck and Neyland Dr. That may be the duty of the City of Knoxville, so he could have been a city worker. I very much doubt it though, as I would think the university would probably still handle that stretch. Considering how frequently it is mowed, I would highly doubt the city mows it. Probably would only get done every other month if that was the case.

What is the big deal? Just another Bama grad knocking some illegal out of a job.
