Florida is going down.

Florida could easily only win 4 games next season but so could we. Either way, it's going to be interested in seeing what happens down there.

A 4 win season for either team would be a huge failure.

I see next year's UF/UT game being in our favor big time. Our D will be better and won't allow them to beat us on speed alone. Our O should be light years better too.

They'll improve on O (nowhere to go but up) but if Grier isn't the answer, they're screwed. Their D will be worse than when we faced them in September.

Butch really has to get it done next year. He would buy himself a lot of time no matter what happens if he can break the streak against the Gators.

Muschamp changing to an up tempo offense doesn't bode well for the Gators IMO. UF has the look of a program in decline. Unless they hire exactly the correct assistants the downward spiral will begin. Florida has been great for a couple of decades. But, they did most of that while the other two big schools in the state were down for the most part. FSU and Miami are on the way back up. Heck, FSU is already back up. That is going to take a big bite out of the recruiting that allowed the folks in Gainseville to weather storms like this in the recent past. They have no margin for error. They are going to find themselves with a mountain to climb if they don't make a dramatic turnaround next season.

"Up tempo offense" can mean a lot of things, but it would be better than what they've been doing.
Florida football is at its best when it features the latest, greatest offensive scheme to hit the SEC, run by five-star athletes. To me, that's why Muschamp was an odd hire. He had a very different background from Spurrier and Meyer. Not every successful DC at a major program whose first HC job is at another major program turns into the next Bob Stoops.

At this point I think it would be best if Florida got rid of Muschamp. Injuries were huge for them this year but it was year 3 for the Musc and no depth. It's going to be difficult rebuilding when your instate rival is playing for the NC - and you have 7 players jumping ship. Don't really matter if the players were quality *'s or not, it's still bad press. As it sits right now, all but 2 of your 4* commits are from Fl., you can bet Jimbo will be poaching.

They seem to always leave it open for you to get one in.

You want muschamp gone? Or do you give him a break due to qb issues? Or does the lack of effort down the stretch overcome it?

That post was the baseball equivalent of pitching underhand to Yasiel Puig. :)

I wanted Musclecramp gone after the Vandy game. Georgia Southern should have been his last game.

UF's recruiting rankings have been all smoke and mirrors. We whiffed on some skill players we desperately needed (Diggs and Algholor), and our QB recruiting has been straight up garbage.

And on your QB situation, you lost Murphy as well. With some proper coaching that kid had potential.

If he is on a losing streak after Georgia next season, I believe he's gone IMO.

OP is clueless when it comes to recruiting in FL. Even during the early 2000's when UM and FSU were top 5 UF still recruited top instate talent. Just makes it harder for others to cherry pick top talent.

L Dub, you are one of my favorite Florida posters on here. Now I can't help the fact you were mentally scarred as a child and root for the Gators, but your posts are informative and you don't troll like some Vandy fans.

Thanks for the kind words. :hi:

I post on several rival message boards, and this one is easily the best. Tiger Droppings is pretty good too.

TD is okay, but as soon as you post something you have to reach back a page or two to find the thread. Not very well set up so to speak.

I lurk more than I post over there.

Agree about the format, it's not as easy to navigate like VN.

That said TD has some very good information coming from different points of view.

If UF doesnt snap back to how they have been for the past decade or so I look for Muschamp to be gone after next year and for Charlie Strong to be the next head Gator. If that happens UF will be back to being the UF we all love and admire so very much.. :)

On the other hand, it just may be Florida's turn to embrace the suck. Pretty much every top program has went through a down time in the last decade or so except for Florida. I kind of doubt that though. Their AD wont put up with it. As much as I despise the gators id love to have their AD.

I'd rather have UofL's AD if we could take anyone.

Before this season, UF's last losing season was 33 years ago.

Since then, every SEC school has suffered at least 4 losing seasons.

We were due.
