Florida loses!

sc, uf, & uga were all pretty damn strong last yr when he won 9 games

18-6 the last 2 yrs at freakin vandy man that is impressive

i will agree he's taking advantage this yr tho the uf and uga arent anything special but he seems to consistently field a good team that competes with uga/sc/uf

Lets see how he does next year without the fourth and fifth year guys that Bobby redshirted.

The one coach I don't want to see at Florida is…. Petrino!

Dun Dun Duhhhhhhhhh!!!!! (Dramatic revert)

The talent he would recruit at Florida is the perfect fit for his system.

I can't see UF looking past his history. Say what you will about success or failure, UF doesn't hire coaches with major character issues.

According to everything I've seen he's back for 2014. Amazing. It's like they're committing to a midseason firing.

He has beaten 3 teams with a winning record in 3 years. Why is everyone swinging on his nuts? Hire the clown.

Good stat.
I just looked it up. Two of the 2012 wins came over teams that finished 7-6. And, they beat UGA this year, when the banged-up Dawgs gave them the game with two fumbles on special teams to set up fourth-quarter TDs.

Like I said…low hanging fruit. That's his career.
It's a very impressive run at Vandy though.

How much of it is really a coach's fault?

I feel like the team just got totally demoralized by the injuries and packed it in. UF and UT seemed to have the same problem this year, but for different reasons. UF quit because they're used to winning and couldn't deal with a bad season. UT quit because we're used to losing and don't know how to compete against good/better teams.

That same philosophy cannot be applied to the players. ... It's called University of Felons for a reason. Sorry but that was just too easy,

This picture is awesome; UF player blocking another UF player and apparently a guy died on the 1 yard line:

Charlie Strong.

Don't feel like that will happen personally. Since he was passed over when Muschamp was hired, figured he'd still be pretty scorned if he was asked to come in and fix the mess they created by passing him over in the first place.

Still see him headed for Texas or USC myself.

He did say a few years back that he felt that race had a role in him not getting an SEC head coaching job. Would he view an offer to come to UF as an insult at this point? Or that things had changed a bit more to the point where he'd be offered a head coach position? Only he knows the answer to that.

I don't know. We offered him, but I certainly wouldn't have sent the chief booger eater up to negotiate with him.

And if race has anything to do with it, how did Joker Phillips and James Franklin get their jobs? I don't count Sumlin since he started before A&M came into the SEC, but he's there as well.

I can't speak for him in saying the offer to come back to Florida would be an insult, but I certainly would be laughing if I was him. And waiting on another high level program to give me an offer as I watched UF slide downhill quickly.

Either way, if Muschamp does come back for another year, it'll be late in the year before they decide to can him. Chances of you starting 3-0 are pretty good with your 2014 schedule. After that it gets a little tricky.

Well, let's not forget they overachieved last year. So I guess next year is going to be the tiebreaker.

In hindsight it's apparent UF had bona fide NFL talent in Jordan Reed and Mike Gillislee on offense...and their production couldn't be replaced. See also Matt Elam and Jon Bostic on defense.

Losing Easley was like chopping the head off King Kong.

My issue with Muschamp is the team's lack of discipline at key moments, his inability to evaluate offensive talent, and the quality of offensive line recruiting. Threatening fans after the UGA game and telling fans to get a grip are just icing on the cake.

Once Dalvin Cook jumps ship, all bets are off. I just don't see Muschamp finishing the 2014 season as our coach.

I think your first paragraph nails the situation perfectly.

But in hindsight, comparing both resumes at the time, Muschamp would likely win 9 out of 10 times, regardless of where the job opening was located.

I tend to agree with this. I thought Muschamp was a risk, but I thought Strong might be an even bigger risk. So I guess I was 1 for 2.

Want to hear a good one?

If the Gators were playing against a high school team, how many plays would it take to score?

At least 3
