There is no way with any clear thinking people feel Muschamp should be fired next year, unless something catastrophic happens and we go 4-8, etc. I do think he has to beat Tennessee. he doesn't want to be the UF coach who loses on a regular basis to UT. If he does, then he will find himself without a job. The roster he was given was depleted with the talent he needs to run a pro-style offense. No big backs, very little talent on the OL or at WR, etc.
Muschamp said the other day that he looked at our two-deep and we are the youngest team in the conference (don't start going crazy UT fans). It's a fact.
Said we have 60 kids on scholly, so we are the lowest, or 2nd lowest, in regards to depth. These are real issues, not fabricated by a fan base or media. We have been killed by kids transferring out, but it happens. Our talent level isn't very good at all......
People need to remember, especially what I notice in your fan base. This stuff is ALL cyclical. It's Florida's time to be down and not a competitive program we have enjoyed the last few years. The simple fact is we just aren't that good. UT is just going through a down time after enjoying years of dominance in the SEC.
In the long run I think we will be fine, but it's all up to Muschamp to right the ship. This is the worst the program has been in 30 years, and we are down pretty bad. We'll see if he is up to the task of rebuilding the program from it's current chaos and save a sinking ship.
