Florida vs. Tennessee Postgame Report

I said Trae played well against Memphis outside the TO's. He's had a good four game stretch and I think he's starting to understand how to play the position.

Yeah, I guess. I may be a little hard on Trae, as he is not a traditional PG. I am hard on PGs myself as I played PG. Trae makes some questionable decisions and it runs all over me, but has played well lately outside of the Memphis game.

Kenny Hall is easily the most frustrating player that I've watched play Tennessee basketball. And I remember J.P. Prince pretty well.

Yeah, but with JP he would do something great and then turn around and do something boneheaded. With Kenny, you just never know if he's going to show up every game. He's a JR and his clock is ticking. It's now or never for him to be consistent.

Big time win today.

Was it just me, or did no one want the ball when the gators picked up full court after scores? Is Maymon good enough to be a safety valve vs pressure?

Washpun played with no confidence today. Can't believe Martin played him after he dribbled it out of bounds under token pressure.

Billy D could of trapped us out of a zone all day if he wanted. I bet our sketchy ball handling convinced him man pressure would turn us over more.

vols drew several charges today, some I thought were questionable, but that's how it should be when you play at home.

Maymon is a decent enough ball handler to help with that pressure.

Agree about Billy D. He could have pressed into many more TOs, but as I said, he seems to have brain-fart after brain-fart against us.

Thought some of those charges were questionable at first glance as well, but after watching the replays of them, they were usually pretty legit, especially for the home team who generally outhustled the opponent to get good position.

Anyone have realtimerpi.com access?

Fla was ranked 39th coming into the UT game and UT was a horrid 278. Fla was predicted to win 86-73. This should get us to 200...maybe.

Oakland is 7-10 also. Didn't see them being that bad.

Agree 100% on all points.

Would like to add. If Golden can give us a line of 12 pts, 7 assists, 4 rebounds, every game, then we will be in every game.

Congratulations to Martin and the Vols. This is only the second game against quality opponents that Tennessee did not quit at the end of the game. The first was the first game against Memphis when the game could have gone either way, Memphis was lucky to win that game. Hope this means that they are learning to compete for the entire game.
:good!:

Wes Rucker just retweeted a former Fla player tweet. Adam Allen. He said, "No team I hate losing to more than UT". Heh.

Quinn Cannington, former walk on at UT, then tweets back and forth and asks him why and he said, "the fans are brutal, and players are always dirty. Not to mention the cheating they did". LOL. Cheating? We didn't do no stinkin' cheating.

Cannington then asks him about former UT players and he said he hated Tyler Smith, but respected him. Said he didn't respect Brian Williams. Heh.

They played great today and Coach Martin seems to be a great motivator. That one assistant coach reminds me of chris rock! Go Vols!

Heh. He's (Allen) a good guy. I don't know him personally, but know several people that used to hang out with him on a regular basis. Still a dumbass.

Nice game summary. UT played much better than UF today and earned the victory. Go big orange!
