Anybody got fishing trips planned this weekend? I'm thinking about chasing smallies if the weather will cooperate.

I had quite a good day on the Clinch last weekend. Hope to repeat that again this weekend. Of course, as with all tailwaters, much will depend on water release.

do you guys have any advice of a good place to go to learn to Fly Fish? I am going on a trip in September to British Columbia to fly fish and I don't know anything about it. I have a rod and reel, but I suck at casting. Are there any good teachers in East TN that you might recommend? I have no business going on the trip, but it is a family outing.

This outfit is local to you. It might at least be worth touching base with them and asking questions.

Also Lefty Kerr (sp?) Has a good book on casting. Spend Lot of time in the yard practicing and you will get it in no time.

I posted this earlier but if you missed it (and are proximate enough to attend) Troutfest in Townsend will have some big names, including Lefty Kreh and Bob Clouser.

As another source there's actually some pretty good tutorials on Youtube.

I learned to cast in my front yard. May get funny looks if you have neighbors. Just tell them the squirrels are biting.

I haven't used the drift boat in 2 and half years. It gets so little use, that I need to sell it. So if I get another boat, hopefully it's going to be one I can take out on the lake.

Anyway, the boat has never been left outside. After every use it's cleaned, covered, and put in a garage - where it's been this whole time.

I just noticed, what's missing from this pic is the front bench (which is interchangeable with the front seat) so you can take up to 4 people out at a time. I've gone w my dad fishing and my mom and sister have come along for the ride.

Also missing is the rear knee brace/pedestal. it's normally attached.

I sold my drift boat a few years back. I got a nucanoe and have been very happy with it. Easily the most stable canoe made. Also you can go places most can't and don't need others to go with you.

Golfballs - you might try contacting someone at 3 rivers anglers in Knoxville. They might know someone interested.

Good looking boat, btw! Had mine on the Holston this weekend....took a couple chunks out of the glass, but a good day of fishing.

Thanks.

I really hate to sell it, but I moved away from E. Tennessee and when I do come back I don't have time to float.
