I' ve been out of the Air Force for 40 years but I still miss seeing my baby, the F-15 Eagle going vertical when I was stationed in Germany.

Been out the navy 26 years .worked flight deck on the carl vinson a.b.e ..launch and recovery ..i still say the A6 was the loudest jet we ever hooked to the cat ..the jet blast is right on top you it seems and when you throw thumb up when locked and loaded it goes full throttle as you running out .and you better know where your going its so loud it blurs your vision

A friend I played ball with retired two star brigadier general wing commander Iraq war . Saw him and his mom at local grocery a few years back hugged his mom I thought no one would ever believe who this was here in this local store . Actually at pentagon when attacked I’m sure he probably thought about that when he had his time to fly!

It's ain't a flyover until you have 30 Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt IIs going over at 300 feet.
A-10s are nice. I have a nose art sticker on my truck's back window. But at night you have to have afterburners. I got an incentive ride in an RF-4C in the 80s' and an F-16 in the 90's. Both rides were incredible!

I'm envious. I only got to ride in an A-7 Corsair II. Silly attack bird that thought it was a fighter aircraft and spunky enough to make an opposing plane believe it.

I didn't realize what was happening when those jets flew over and was like " is the Lord coming back? " lol

Was not at the game, but they flew over my house on the way to the stadium. Loud here too. We live just south of the river off Old Knox/Old Maryville (33) in Rockford. Usually on the descent path for landing, except on Guard weekends... That runway extension has changed our lives.

I had a buddy in the AF that worked those at Myrtle Beach AFB in the 70's. I was at Shaw with the F4's.

Noisy beast, but an absolute brute. Some nitwits in the AF assumed air-to-air missiles meant the age of old time dogfights was over and failed to equip the original Phantoms with guns. Always wondered if that pod gun they slapped on later made any difference. The plane itself was a Joe Louis-Rocky Marciano hybrid. Would have been almost a flying Panzer tank with a proper gun built in. Hopefully, the AF has learned their lesson and made sure all future fighters are paired with the ability to jab as well as deliver hay hammers.

My current boss retired SMSgt was flight line super for C-17's at Charleston. We reminisce a lot bout the good ole days.

Never got to ride in a C-17, always 130's, 141's and C-5's for me.
