Hearing Keith Jackson shout "... and Powell is GONE!"

Actually, I didn't hear Keith say that until I got back home and watched the ole' VCR.  In the 3rd quarter, my wife was saying how we had won. Just before that play, I turned to her and said it wasn't over yet.  About 12 seconds later, I changed my mind as Jeff ran into the corner of the end zone where we were sitting. WOW!

"Powell is GONE!!.....GOOD....B-Y-E!!!!"

And then Broyles,.... "Look at the hole. It was a natural hole. Benny Blades, who has world class speed, cannot catch this track man from William & Mary."

something like that.

Me too!! I still have a tape of that game, with John Ward's pregame special. It shows highlights of every game, plays of the year, and Miami's highlights, too. It shows the teams practicing and preparing for the game, etc.

I also love watching the commercials from back then.

The "Brand new 1986 Ford Taurus" looked pretty cool back then. :D

And the, "Give me a light. (Bartender hands man a torch and the man swallows it and exhales smoke) No, a bud light."

And the "This Bud's for you" commercials were cool.

One commercial, I think it was American Express, showed Tom Landry walk into a bar and he runs into the "Hogs" from the Redskins.

Here’s another for me! Curt Watsons 17-yard run with 1:56 left in the 1971 Liberty Bowl to beat Arkansas 14-13. I was 11 years old but remember it like it was yesterday

1973 vs. Auburn at Neyland in the rain.......blond blind date from Clement hall dorm.....uh let's forget that....... Anyway, back to the game,we had a good defense and jumped ahead of the Plainsmen, Tigers, War Eagles or what the hell they call themselves in a torrential downpour and started punting on FIRST down!!!

Shug Jordan was Auburn's coach and was a habitual complainer anyway, he was PO'd at Battle for punting on first down thinking he was insulting Auburn. We won 21-0 and we were soaked

As long as Richt is the coach, i'd think you'd want CPF there....

I remember when UGA got rid of Ray Goff...man, i loved that guy. fortunately they replaced him with Jim Donnan....I didn't have time to fall in love wiht him, but i liked him a lot....

I wish either of them were still around Athens....Jim used to get so flustered after the TN games and RAy was just the nicest guy ever!!

My fondest Vol memory was my first game I attended, the 1988 Kentucky game. My dad is from Kentucky and a die hard Mildcat fan, and he never spoke a word on the 4 hour trip back home.

My fondest memory is my first trip to Neyland Stadium for the 1998 Florida game. It was a Baptism of sorts...

I had been a college football fanatic from a young age, but never did I have an allegiance with one team in particular. It was a surreal experience to say the least. The size of the stadium, the capacity crowd, 100,000 people singing Rocky Top in unison, the passion of the fans, the rivalry, you name it.

I left the stadium that night telling myself that I would NEVER root for another college football team as long as I live.

Go Big Orange!!

I think it is more his personality rather than his coaching ability. He seems to just come across wrong and after the 'Bama case it just leaves a bad taste. If you can't beat them...turn them in. That is a bad precedent in football to try to start.

As far as turning post into a Fulmer thing...it was a joke....don't take everything so serious. Have a bud light and relax.

NOT my favorite moment as a Kentucky fan- Ranked #2 in the country, Kentucky blew it in a forgettable loss to the Vols.

Kentucky at Tennessee
Wednesday, February 24 1993

The final play deserves special mention. UK appeared to almost intentionally foul Houston with about 5-6 seconds remaining, since they knew UT needed 3 points. Kentucky was ahead by 3 at this point of the game. Houston hit his first, but deliberately missed to second to allow for a UT recovery and tap-in to tie it. Everyone in the gym knew this was going to occur, but still the UK players did not block out properly, and after a couple of taps by both sides, UT's Corey Allen ended up getting the ball and making a nice shot, during which he was fouled. He hit his free throw with 1.5 seconds remaining to give UT a 1 point lead. The Cats tried a length of the court pass which was picked off, and UK lost a game it should have held on to.

Watching the Miracle at South Bend (lucky all our neighbors were Vol fans or gone or the cops might have been called) only thing better would have to been there in person

Hmmmm lets see.......

1.) First half of the 1995 UT vs UF game. I was amazed how dominant Tennessee was in the swamp. Then the second half had to be played.

2.) Peyton Manning against Alabama, doesn't matter when.

3.) The air attack between Peyton Manning and Tim Couch at Commonwealth Stadium.

4.) Clint Stroener fumble in 1998.

5.) This one you will probably have trouble with. Raynoch Thompson diving over the Arkansas line in 1999 trying to force a fumble or mishap at the end of the game while the quarterback was attempting to take a knee.

Because we are 33-17 in our last 50 games.

I think the 98 Arkansas game. Fans were filing out of that stadium faster than the SC game this year. Then by an act of God, Arkansas fumbled. We recovered. We scored. We won. We went on undefeated.

One UT fan shouted at those trying to run back in "We don't need you! Go home! You left and don't deserve to see the rest of the game!"

Probably the 1998 Florida game... UF's missed FG, Grant's crazy INT... it all came together that night and when I first thought this could be UT's year...

Other memories of that season... watching the Syracuse game on Labor Day weekend from my aunt's house in Dayton, Ohio... won that won 34-33...

Also remember being at a dirt track race on a Saturday night in Baxter and hearing them announce the final score over Houston, 42-7 or something.

Pretty much the entire 1998 season.

I remember sitting in Neyland Stadium FREEZING from the top of my head to the soles of my feet, but not caring because
the Vols were TROUNCING Hal Mumme's Wildcats and he had no answer for it. We scored over 50 points in that game. I think it might have been Casey Clausen's freshman year.

It took me about an hour to warm up on the way home.
