This sucks. I remember when Bristol used to sell out a year in advance. Guess the sharp decline in quality has even affected the best tracks in terms of attendance.

I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. It looks like that place is about 2/3 full.

Now I'm wondering if Talladega will sell out. Stunning to see this happen at Bristol.

I had 5 of the top 12 this week, plus the pole. Lots of Kyle/Carl picks though.

Looked to me like only around 100,000-110,000 seats occupied. That would leave 50,000-60,000 empty seats.

Counting the suites, seating totals 163,000, so there were probably more empty seats than that. An article in the paper a few days before the race gave ticket sales as 88,000. How many were sold by race time is not known.

It seems that NASCAR is often a little generous as to reporting sales and legitimate attendance as well.

How long until Bruton rips the track up again and tries something else? The "new and improved" Bristol definitely isn't putting butts in seats.

I'm pretty sure the resurfacing isn't blame, attendance is down everywhere.

Talladega hasn't sold out in at least 5 years.

bingo. not like other tracks are packing them in while Bristol is empty. the new surface is a friendly excuse for everything.

they were lucky if they got 2/3 of the place full. i've seen the place empty before, but today was amazing. i'm still kinda shocked. it's getting bad.

the highlight of the day, as always, was my Double Big Pal with cheese. i love that place.

Yep, I figured around 60% max, which is just odd having seen its glory in the pas. Traffic was easy too, it just felt really weird. I did manage to throw down on a philly cheese steak and a turkey leg as always, they never let me down.
