Several older people went there for lunch or early dinner. It was a gathering place for them.
The Ryans and Food Lion both closing is around 75-100 jobs lost.
I don't know of any chains closing these large of numbers since 1985-1995.
Food Lion Sucks
Sears and Kmart was just announced a few months ago.
What I was meaning by my post is there has not been these types of closing since the 90's. Another sign of a bad economy
We've got HyVee, Safeway, and Shnucks here. All are thriving surrounded by several Walmarts and Target SuperCenters. HyVee is amazing. I have 2 within 5 minutes of me and a Walmart 3 minutes away. I never go to Walmart. I go to Target every once in a while for their pre-made deli sandwiches. I'm going to miss the convenience when I move to the middle of nowhere for school.
Did Shoney's close down a bunch of stores, also?
