Food stamps

I never seen a cashier check a person's card. The user just uses the card on the acceptable items it accepts and filters out what is not allowed on it. But the black market is huge I believe and is not being exaggerated.

Tax Dollars Wasted: Missouri Drug Dealer Busted 4 Selling Crack In Exchange 4 Food Stamp Cards - YouTube

One of the people I know that sells it claims 4 of her kids but doesn't even take care of them. Her mother has been raising all of them while she is getting a free ride. My buddy buys the stamps from her and she spends that money to buy weed/cigs/alcohol with his cash. I tell him he is unethical for doing it. His response " I am getting screwed anyways by the government, I am struggling and I need food, if I don't buy them she just sells them to the next guy, so I have to regain some of my lost"

I worked as a cashier in metro Atlanta back in HS. I was never required to ID check EBT transactions. They had a pin and that was it. The majority of those who carried out EBT transactions abused the system when I was a cashier. Many of these "unfortunate" souls had the audacity to buy a couple hundred dollars worth of food on their EBT card, then turn around (still at the counter) and ring up a separate transaction of expensive electronics and would pay straight cash homie.

Oh, and those that were too stupid to remember the four digit pin had no problem whipping out their phone at the counter to either call or text seller about the pin number.

On my way to work in the afternoons, I frequently stop at a local Pilot and pick up the essentials for that evenings shift. It absolutely blows my mind how many times I see people buying 3 bags of Jacks Links, 2 liters of Mountain Dew and Bug Juice for their rug rats. Generally they are white, obese, and toothless.

In addition to reform, there also needs to be an approved list of products you can purchase. Fresh produce, canned goods, and staples such as milk, juice and cereals. Spending it on garbage at the convenient store is a waste, and also can have an effect on general well being. Which is also supported on our dime via TennCare.

I know WIC's product listing is very restricted. I'm not sure if EBT has any other than alcohol.

This is correct. The underground market is huge and the ones with the cards know where to go to get their beer and cigs.

please see Milo's statement above.

He is a mod and he stated he was kidding.

If he was serious he could have blown me out of the water just now and proved I was a racist.

Ok regardless of whether he was kidding or not...the connotation is the same. Its something about putting the "The" in there.
