Football and Capitalism...

start treaty
Not familiar with it.
I am a proponent of Health care reform, though what was passed might not work, it's a start.
Something had to be done but there were much less costly options that weren't geared toward further separating the people from their responsibilities as consumers. It turned out to be more about buying off a voting block than health care.
Iran sanctions
As meaningless as the sanctions were against Iraq. That is the first logical step but without a what if backing them up they lead to nowhere. History proves this fact.
Iraq pullout
They needed to go at some point, it was a disaster.
Stance on Israel, Palastinian conflict
Drop the best ally you have in order to appeal to the guys who will stab you in the back when you aren't looking. I agree that something had to change as far as our stance goes but the pendulum swung a little too far IMO.
Generally improved diplomatic relations
Depends on who we are talking about. Some of our greatest allies are sitting on the sidelines wondering if our president will stand by them. The world has become a much more unstable place thanks to the looming threat of militant Islamic factions, thanks to them the usual loony suspects are further emboldened as well. Bush deserves a good portion of the blame here but at least our allies and enemies knew he wasn't afraid to use the stick he carried.
He's not God, and he may not even turn out to be a good President, but he's not the worst.

Just my opinion on some of these points.

valid, everyone. Israel particularly concerns me but they can't continue being hardliners with one hand and claiming a desire for peace with the other. Though you may be right about that pendulum. I'm overall dissapointed in health care but excited it was at the very least a political carott for a while...better than being ignored. And took the focus off of gay marriage for a while.
