So Bama picks up huge commit despite already being loaded, and florida is racking them up despite losing almost their entire staff.

We on the other hand, continue to lose commits, and miss out on strong leans/other recruits.

I know its been said that we are in it for a bunch of guys but how realistic is it that we even pull in a top ten class at this point. And it seems like we really arent that "in it" with these recruits.

So, I guess what Im asking is...

Does anyone know anything good for us in recruiting ?

Sticking with a prediction of an 8 to 12 ranking. Taylor proved that stars do not matter. Our evaluations, strength & conditioning, and coaching matter...not the ranking. Though FLA's class is scary. We need to finish with a top 10 class to keep up as their talent with less than perfect coaching they will still be pretty good.

To everyone that's freaking out and questioning our staff's ability to recruit, I'd like to ask all of you to do the rest of us a big favor... Go ahead and jump, the crying and whining is getting kind of annoying. Jump off the ledge, swallow the pills, however you feel like going out. Either that or step away from the recruiting forum and don't come back until February 4th. Kthankx.

If we had decent special teams group, we would've pulled out a few more wins, and winning a bowl game would've helped to make the case that this program is indeed on the rise. As it stands, that's a much tougher sell with the results we've had the last few months.

Bama didn't get Chaz Green. That was in response to the "anyone know anything good for us" part of the OP's post.

I keep hoping I can convince one of these idiots to jump off the cliff so that hopefully the rest of the lemurs will run off the edge too.

They have reason to be concerned. Bama and Florida have been killing it on the recruiting trail. We have been doing pretty well, but are not on those two teams' level yet. What's annoying is people who think UT's staff members are like gods and can do no wrong.

So, just because some folks have a different take on the matter, than you do...they are idiots, aye?

Listen up everybody...do what Captain Ego says here and no one will get hurt.

I think some of the posters who have been through at least one recruiting season, realize that there is still a long way to go. Calling for patience would be better than calling posters idiots.

The thing that makes me say hmmm, is Kiffin seems to have guys that are very interested and ready to commit and they are put on hold thinking we will be able to pull someone that is considered a higher pickup. These players that are considered fall back options are committing to other schools and we are missing out on some of the players we thought were better leaving us empty. This might have worked at USC where they had no competition in recruiting but over here i don't believe you can get away with it when you have UF, Bama, LSU, FSU, Barn, Miami and other big programs recruiting these same kids hard. I guess what i'm saying is i like the fact that we are being selective in trying to get the best players but at the same time i think it's costing us in some areas. I also thought having Monte here would be enough to sway some of these kids to play for him but it doesn't seem to have the effect i thought it would. Hopefully come signing day i will be proven wrong.
