For 1 NCAA title, What would you trade?

That's a big F*** no to all of those. Im proud of what the Lady Vols have accomplished. Nothing is worth forfeiting part of our history and Pat is a legend.

"Maybe I am wrong but, I think most of are so hungry and passionate about Pearl and our basketball program we would consider the above."

Yes you are wrong.

I would cancel our entire womens athletic program for...I'm trying to think of something that I would not trade the whole program for...can't come up with anything.

I'd do all these things plus If I had to go further, here's what I would be willing to do for the Vols...

I'd take one for the team and let Brittney Griner punch me in the face, and then I'd do her, while Pat Summitt watched. And I'd chant, "The Baylor Bears, tickle my short hairs", the whole time, while staring at Pat in the eyes and still doing Brittney Griner....

I'm serious about this thing. This would involve some real commitment....

Wow! that is Purpose, Poise, and Passion.:pepper:

Would you give back all the Lady vols titles for 1 mens title?

This question basically ties in the with the third, but no. As much as I dislike women's basketball, it has been good for the university and publicity.

would your forfeit 5 football seasons?

Considering we might be about to do that anyway, more or less...then yes. Honestly caring less and less about football. Sorry.

Now if its 5 seasons in the past, then definitely yes.

So yes either way.

would you fire pat summit to win a title?

No. She has been a big boost the university, and there's really no measuring how much she has helped our reputation.

Basically I agree with what somebody said, about wanting the men to do it on their own.

But then that conversation is about as boring as Han Solo talking to an Imperial about a reactor leak in the detention block and...Chewie we're gonna have company!

A men's national title would do far more.

Forfeiting the next 5 seasons would be a super death penalty. Forfeiting the past is meaningless.

Like I said earlier, winning the men's game would do much more.

Not just trying to single you out because many have said this, but I think this should be looked at more like what you would prefer rather than what you would actually trade. Obviously trading for a national title doesn't make anyone feel proud, but I'm comfortable saying I'd rather win one men's title than 10 women's titles, gymnastic titles, and really anything else other than football.

I dunno, I think it would take two or three national titles for the men to equal that.

You can't be underestimate just how legendary Pat Summit is. We take her for granted, but she's a pretty big deal.

Take Florida bball for example. They won, what, two national titles in a row? Which do you think is more recognizable? Florida basketball or Pat Summit? I think Pat Summit's status has had more influence on our programs than Florida's two national titles in basketball have had on its programs.

Strictly basketball versus basketball, obviously I'd take 1 men's title over 10 women's. I just think that Summit has also helped us in other areas over the years too.

I don't think people realize how insignificant women's basketball is to 99% of sports fans in this country. Winning 1 national title in basketball would bring more publicity and recognition to the university than anything Pat Summitt has accomplished during her career.

Women's basketball, yes. But I think she has transcended that. She's a sports celebrity in general, instantly recognizable, and a well-respected/liked one at that. I'm willing to bet she's more recognizable than Eddie Munster down there in Florida.

Edit: I guess I should clarify, since this is the bball forum. I absolutely think that a single men's national championship would do more for our bball program than Pat has done or ever could do. I'd be an idiot to dispute that. Otherwise, I was just referring to UT in general.

I'd take disbanding the entire Women's basketball program just so we could hold practice.

I agree. Think about the added space we would have in Pratt Pavillion without them in there. Also, we could cut out the $500,000 loss every year just to have a women's program.

I don't remember the women's bball team losing money. Link?

Plus, Pat won't have to get absolutely embarrassed when she has to meet Geno. It's a win for all parties.

Let Summit and Pearl change places for a year and see how that works out. Better yet let Pat take Dooley's place for a while. Can you imagine the CPS stare down on the football sideline.:eek:lol:

The numbers are skewed to make it look like they don't. The men's team has to pay for the parking garages and the use of the arena, etc. The LVs, not so much.

all I'm asking for is a link. I'm sure since so many people know it's happening that it would be public knowledge.

Well, I can't seem to find it now. But I looked at an expense report on men's and women's basketball about a year or two ago. The men had around a $1.5 million profit. The women operated at about a $500,000 deficit.
