To call that socialism or socialistic depends more on what they spent it on. Things like the prescription drug plan tend to be more socialistic. War spending (government consumption of goods and services) is not necessarily socialistic.

as someone else alluded too. . . virtually every study has shown that the majority of people earning minimum wage are high school and college students with part time jobs. There hasn't been a single raise in the minimum wage that has moved the poverty numbers even one percentage point.

Hillary Clinton said in El Paso today that she wants an America where minimum wage for full time employees will be $9.50/hour. I seriously laughed out loud as soon as she finished the sentence.

Thoughts on her wanting that minimum wage?

She knows it is unrealistic she is pandering to those poor souls who cannot afford to feed their family but still manage to keep a cell phone bill paid. A good portion of these people who are below the poverty line are there because they don't have their priorities straight!!!!!!!

Promising to raise the minimum wage is just another grossly transparent ploy to buy votes, just like any other social program. The Democrats have created the biggest scam in history: Use our money (not their own, of course, but ours) to buy votes by promising a laundry list of social programs that are doomed to fail. Justify it all with pity and guilt and the votes will roll right in. Does anyone think Hillary and Barack are too stupid to realize that these programs don't work, have only negative effects, and that the outrageous costs will be borne by hard-working Americans that reap no benefit from the costs? Maybe they are, but I doubt it. What depresses me is that they are able to pull this scam on such a large percentage of the general populace. There a lot of idiots in the USofA, and it just might doom us all.

so if min. wage increases will everybody elses jobs $$$ increase as well. only fair. i don't see how the crew at my local taco bell works as hard as some ppl. plus i won't go in there ne more. last time i went in there this one guy literally had his pants half way down to his knees with his belt holding it up. u could literally see 75% of his boxer briefs. i complained to the manager and left.

I think states should handle minimum wage. A federal minimum wage is ridiculous, always has been.

the guy that owns the local McD, Wendy's, Starbucks, auto dealership, AutoZone, etc will not see his income increase, but each will feel in a substantial way the wage hike. Best solution for each of them is to fire a couple folks. That's generally what they choose.
