For those suggesting throwing NIL money at players

How many seasons of football are you going to have to watch before you accept there’s a range of possible outcomes?

For A&M 10 or 11 regular season wins is 100% possible. They have one of the best rosters in the sec
Texas A&M has never won 10 or more games with Jimbo Fisher as their head coach, and their number of wins is trending down.

Cool story. It doesn’t mean anything. But cool story.
It obviously means more than Texas A&M having the best recruiting class in the nation because Appalachian State physically whipped Texas A&M last year with that super talented roster. That was also probably the worst Appalachian State team in at least the last 10 years too.

Once again, cool story. It doesn’t mean anything, but cool story. They also weren’t “physically whipped”.

Cool story. Your idiotic prediction doesn't mean a damn thing either.

...and you obviously didn't watch that Texas A&M/Appalachian State game last year.

My claim that a very talented roster may win 10 games?

You seem to be the only one making “idiotic prediction(s)”. I’m stating a very simply fact that a team with that much talent very well could win 10 games or more this season.

Let me get this straight - you're correlating the 2022 TAMU team to the 2022 class, when they were just true freshman?

Whether they end up good or not, this is hilariously misapplied imo.

Should we judge our freshman class on how much impact they have this season? Nico included? It's silly.

And what IF we took a small step back to 9-4 or 10-3? Shall we blame NiL and Nico's big paycheck 😅

It worked for Georgia, sure their culture is trash and it’s borderline dangerous to send your child there they’ve won b2b championships. They will most likely implode but it sure as hell is a winning formula. Could work for us and might last longer since our coach actually cares about a kid’s well being
You can say that again.

I'm saying that Jimbo Fisher is a crappy coach, and they won't win 10 or more games at Texas A&M with him as head coach regardless of how much talent they have on their roster.

Is anyone really surprised if ANY SEC squad, outside of vandy, pops up and wins 10 games?
I’m not.

The guy who has won a national championship and had previous ten win seasons? Yeah, I’m sure he could never win ten whole games!

People are bad to think these things are all played on paper and if you’re better than team x you’ll for sure win. So since A&M lost a lot of games last season, in they’re mind it’s a bad team.

They fail to realize there’s a range of outcomes for every team. These are the people who think it’s impossible for us to lose more than 2 or 3 this season because they’ve not accepted that basic premise

He wasn’t the ACC national champion. He even went 9-1 during the covid year. You’re just talking out of your ass

You're gonna have to pay market rate to get the good players.

But I also think you have to find out who is in it just to get a check. Those are the guys that will go straight Haynesworth once the fully guaranteed NIL money comes in.

That DL obviously went to Mizzou because they were offering way more than the actual good programs were. If we had matched, dude would have been coming here for the same bad reason.

While I disagree overall, the discussion is on whether NiL matters or not. If you don't think NiL matters to us, when we just landed Nico, I don't know what to say.

And how you just forgot 2013 is beyond me. Maybe the best team of this century.

Best rosters? They were absolutely pathetic last year. That number 1 class was full of cancers.

Not sure what A&M will do next year, but how many of that #1 class is still relevant? What would the remainder rank?

I'm just saying, with one of the largest endowments in the country, A&M's bang for the buck is just not there historically and at least some percentage of the star power they had in last year's freshman class is somewhere else this year. And next year? Big brother is coming back home to put them in their place.

NIL money at players is the answer are not paying attention. Look at Texas A&M right now. How did it work out for them?
Texas A&M Aggies 2022 recruiting class.

Smoke Bouie | Kicked off High 4 star
Chris Marshall | Kicked off 5 star
Denver Harris | Kicked off 5 star

All three players transferred to different teams, all of them have now seemingly been kicked off those teams as well.

Yea, let’s just look at rankings and throw the big bucks at them. It’s such a sound strategy.

Walter Nolen has yet to make an impact at Texas A&M.

He had a pretty good year last year for a true Fr

As a pass rusher, he had 16 pressures in 132 pass rushes. He received the defensive Top Newcomer award at the annual team banquet in December. Pro Football Focus wrote that "The No. 1 overall recruit showed encouraging signs as a pass rusher, posting a 13% pressure rate that ranked sixth among Power Five interior defensive linemen with at least 120 pass-rushing snaps.
