At least he picked someone who counteracts his weaknesses, not someone he can use as a political joke.
In McCains case, his weakness is the economy and his age. Even I want a strong leader backing him up since the odds are greater than average he might not make it through his term. Palin was a bad choice for his economic deficiencies and the age issue. She doesnt offset anything, and for a VP pick I believe this time around it matters a lot more than usual to Americans.
again, you said better than average odds that she'd have to take the CinC role. I'm asking you what on earth that means. It matters since she is the VP and McCain is no spring chicken.
that's trash statistics and there is no way that life expectancy today for any group of Americans is 61 years. No possible freaking way.The average life expectancy of someone born in the 1930's is 61. McCain is 70, I always check backup plans how about you.

Yeah, not todays Americans, but quality of life wasn't always what it is today and that strain is placed on the human body regardless of how your living standards improve.
Look, he may well live to be 110 years old, but he should have planned for a better backup. What happens if he has a stroke? heart attack? or maybe something that only takes him out for a year and he has to cede control for that time period. Your going to have to look at how everyday Americans are going to precieve this, and you know the MSM is going to throw it in everyones face. And as much as you hate Biden his background story is just as good as hers and he projects himself as a stronger leader.
