For those who don't think Obama is in trouble

Yeah, not todays Americans, but quality of life wasn't always what it is today and that strain is placed on the human body regardless of how your living standards improve.

Look, he may well live to be 110 years old, but he should have planned for a better backup. What happens if he has a stroke? heart attack? or maybe something that only takes him out for a year and he has to cede control for that time period. Your going to have to look at how everyday Americans are going to precieve this, and you know the MSM is going to throw it in everyones face. And as much as you hate Biden his background story is just as good as hers and he projects himself as a stronger leader.
but you were trying to use those stats to portray some enormous risk of McCain passing before the end of the term. Historical track record of those born in the 30s is massively impacted by WWII, Korea and Vietnam, with some depression to go with it.

I would have liked a better backup, but she is not a horrendous choice. I don't remotely see Biden as more of a leader than she is.

Life expectancies take into account everything from chance of infant death to dying of natural causes. What's the life expectancy for those that reach 60? Probably much higher.

I'll take Obama

well you'll be needing him when he cuts the military by about 3/4 and you'll be going down the welfare line and living by a van down the river.

at least you'll get front of the line since you were a vet. and you'll get years of welfare so there is no need to worry about getting a real job.

It wouldn't be the first time I have experienced cuts in the military. So I have built a comfortable backup, so while you gleefully think I will be living some kind of SNL skit, try thinking of this. How much money do you think they offer as incentives for people to retire early?

While I am out fishing and playing golf I hope you enjoy your job at McDonalds.

but surely you'd like to have some say in the early retirement, rather than another gutting of the military forcing that hand, right?

McCain's Dad died in a plane crash at the age of 70, and his Mom is still alive and kicking at 96. I'd say he has a pretty good chance of making it at least another 4 years, if not 8 or even 10 (in case he serves 2 1/2 terms like Obama plans to).
