CFB ticket prices are already encouraging people to stay home rather than physically attend games at stadiums. The enticement of ever larger 4K & 8K TVs is adding to that encouragement. Eventually, they will price themselves out of the market. Tickets, travel costs, and whatever else fringe services get tacked on. All will force people to reconsider stadium attendance.

Another factor is the rise of streaming, undercutting satellite and cable service. Satellcables learning nothing from how their greed pushes people away, now seek a monopoly. Basically, limited customer choices and making it easier to bully customers with ever increasing fees. All with no avenue to do anything about it. But they are wrong, it will ignite defiance, and increase the birthrate of alternative access. Likely even outlaw underground, offshore, or perhaps balloon based streamers who resent the incessant greedy milking of customers. I even foresee creative hackers coming up with computerized capture and decrypting devices that hijack broadcast signals. People can be very imaginative when pushed into a corner and bullied long enough. Streamers had best be careful to not repeat the bullying of customers. Otherwise, face a similar fate.

The idea of gaining and keeping customer loyalty via fair play, pricing, superior service etc. doesn't factor in the minds of these tick-leeches. It's going to cost them long term. Just as people opt to stay home with their giant TVs, and streaming services, they will double down by cutting their Satellcable cables for alternative assess to watching CFB games.

In short- people have been getting good education at the University of Tennessee.

They’re not just going to get a job after graduation- many of them are creating their own cash flow and a variety of other things that allows them to travel to away games and have season tickets.

You have enough of them for the rest everyone else to enjoy the games from the comfort of their homes.

Which I don’t mind because a lot of the music they plays SUCKS. Not just Tennessee games but everywhere. I like listening to commentary as the game is played.

Speaking of ticket prices, anyone have an idea of how much tickets will cost to the Arkansas game? I live in Arkansas, so may be able to make it

The current ticket prices on ticketmaster.com are testing my fandom and making me consider staying home. Right now if i sell my Bama tickets..they will nearly pay for an entire season ticket package.

So you are correct in saying ticket prices are keeping fans at home🤓

Simple Law of Supply and Demand at work.
Demand is going to increase as we keep getting better, unfortunately (unless AD DW pulls a miracle) supply is going to stay the same.
So therefore in the free enterprise market Prices will increase.

FWIW - I hope and pray we never go back to the point we were just a few short years ago where Supply was abundant, Demand was decreased, and prices were low...you know, the Dooley, Butch, and Pruitt years.

They are, from what it seems more, and more fans are saying. Plus my experience, I used to take great joy in running to Neyland from across state lines. The atmosphere, being among so many other Vols fan, and more. But then the tickets and other outlays started piling up in amounts useful for quickly paying off a car loan, home repairs, painting, and deck replacement, you get the picture. I stand by what I said about Satellcable vendors learning nothing, and will see customers increasingly turn away from them. So will streamers if they stubbornly follow the greed formula of ticket sellers, and Satellcable behavior. I love seeing my Vols in living color. But I won't sell my wife, soul, financial well-being to do so.

As for Satellcable companies, they have even gone so far as to insult customers. It was big news about the terms they used to do, including handwritten insults on people's bills.

There are always thieves who want to steal valuable things including broadcasts. Trying to couch jealousy and thievery as "righteous indignation" is as old as Cain trying to excuse his attack on Abel.

Look, if you want to loot the nearest Best Buy because you "deserve" that TV and it's priced out of your means, have it at it.

Just don't expect me to agree about what you "deserve."

Expect you to agree? I didn't ask for your agreement or anything else. I see everything I stated went so high over your head, even the two Voyagers haven't gotten there yet.

Pride85, this whole forum is about people nis about people being an azz about something or another. Just as your very post is azzing about my post. Welcome to Volnation!!!

No. It did not. You're attempting to say that if folks develop a way to steal the broadcasts of UT games, that's just. It's not just.

Stop trying to say it is. If it happens, it's still just theft...... just like looting or knocking over a jewelry store.

Theft doesn't "move the needle forward" in any way.

Look at the get in prices around the country. Most are well under 100$, some are in the 20-30 dollar range. Not so much at Neyland. We have a huge fanbase that has been starving for a winner, and people are buying up the tickets regardless of cost.

This is a good problem to have.

I didn't say IF, child, I said will, nor did I say it is just. I stated how people react when backed into a corner, they DEFY.
Further, my post is an opinion, just like yours. Your reactions suggest you're either in the business of ripping people off with the very type of price gouging I mention, or just want to twist and shout cause you can do it. Personally, I think it's the former.

If you think not being able to watch a football game live because of cost or not being able to stream it without cost is enough of a moral reason to steal........ sure.

I'll never respect those who steal simply because they cannot afford a luxury like a football game ticket or streaming subscription. Those people need to travel a bit and realize the blessings they have compared to much of the world.

The entitlement in your original post was BS.

I just renewed my season tickets for next year - but I did think about whether it was worth it for me to be there in person.

I have been following UT Football for a very long time, back when there was a couple of games on TV and you were either there or listening on the radio.

Today with every game being on TV, it is a decision point for me - not just because of the money but my ability to drive, walk and climb those steps in the stadium are a factor as well.

Next year may be my last year unless I find relatives who want me to keep my tickets for them to use.

I see what you're doing, you're trying to drop a bread crumb grenade next to an ant hill, then scream that Betelgeuse has gone nova, and you're in danger of gamma ray poisoning. Your overblown redirecting what was actually said reaction is typical of what we see from a certain faction of people in our society today. If I bother you so much, here's a solution. There's a button called IGNORE. It works.
