This isn't about being a right. It's about creating a broken system based on political favors.

Instead of "handouts" how about they are made bankruptcy eligible?

Sure the left considers education a basic human right.
Not sure how they do it..but bankruptcy seems so arbitrary when the Feds guarantee homes or any type of loan a right. We saw it in 2008.

the govt literally steals or tax dollars and pays themselves then you'll vote for them. Dare give a citizen a break instead of just corps and it's like someone insulted your grandmother

I'm a most affordable between Ford and GM guy. Prefer Ford but have had good service out of the GMCs we've had.

My problem is with both. The corporations get their money now, after charging interest for years, and the students get their loans paid off so they get a monthly increase in pay....from me
I read where this is not about the nurse or engineer that borrowed $25K for a degree at UT, that trillions are for debt incurred in lesser "certified" schools that enrolled students, who borrowed money not only for "tuition" but for living expenses too and never intended to attend school, never mind get a usable degree, and they knew they would never repay the debt.

Boy you’re really taking the long away there. So your fix is to train individuals to behave like elected officials. Awesome.

Better idea, pay off the debt you voluntarily took on.

No, my point is that if someone is going to benefit from tax dollars it should be the people. Mnuchin's little fund could have paid off a third of the entire student debt.

No one needs to benefit in that manner. We don’t need to be increasing this behavior.

Then we need to quit cheering on politicians that do it. However if the choice is corps get our tax dollars from their buddies or citizens get it then I'll side with the people every time
