Hey we should all just be grateful that he won a NC in his tenure here and let the man be! Everyone on here acts like they could have done this or that better than Phil! Truth is the man is human and had faults, but who the heck else won us a NC in their tenure here besides GRN? Let the man live in peace, get off his back! Last I checked we weren't and still aren't coaching UT so we have no reasoning behind bad mouthing him! Get a full time job, or a life!

I wasn't bad mouthing him, if this post was directed at me, but more lamenting the fact that since 2002 our recruiting had really been lacking in talent evaluations. We had two big time flameout classes with 2002 and 2007 classes and it looks like the 2009 class was headed that way as well.

Just pointing out and trying to figure out why it declined so much. Not holding assistant coaches more accountable would be my guess.

Please forgive him. He is a gator fan after all.

Thank you. :) and Im really not trying to make this "yet another Phil thread"

At the point that Fill. . ok Phil, was declining, I was just happy to see it happening. I wasnt paying much attention to why.

I can say that I had more faith in him being able to change out assistants, get things rolling again, and be more competitive. But I was paying more attention to a couple other schools.

anyways, I dont understand the reasoning for Stokes leaving um. He had gotten some playing time the last couple years. Is he thinking he can go somewhere else and play more? Does he not like the new coaches? New system? I havent seen the reason for the transfer yet. (I probably just missed it, has been a busy couple of days)

Their lack of success is, IMO, due to the coaching carousel in that they probably never established a good relationship with any of their new coaches. This is why choosing a school based on coach relationship is so important. A coach is going to advocate for the guy HE recruited. If things are even between you and the next guy, you can bet the coach is going to put his guy in before you regardless of what he told you or your family when they were trying to get you to stick with UT during the recruitment.

randy sanders is where Phil failed. couldn't coach...couldn't recruit. hate it for him. He was too loyal to him until it was too late.

It was Randy Sanders fault that we didn't have any d-line depth when Fulmer was canned?
