Which is sad. I think McLaren needs a fast Hamilton more than a smooth Button. They put a lot of stock in Hammy out of GP2.

I agree, but he did deliver a WDC. Plus if it wasn't for their own mismanagement in 2007 he could have brought them a double.

I may pass out in a bit. So enjoy the rest of the race.

Trust me, I like Lewis. And I wish he could of got the WDC over Kimi (especially considering his F1 fate). He just seems to be trying too hard to attain footballer fame in the UK.

He needs to just settle in a little more at McLaren and get some retrospect considering the legend of the team.

And before you go off on Vettel or Webber at Red Bull, I truly don't expect this reign to go on too much longer before the legends have a very serious answer that Mateschitz may or may not an$wer at RBR.

Sorry for the long response.

Good post. A lot of common sense to be had there.

Also whew no Lewis penalty.

Also I am a shamless Hamilton kool-aid chugger

Like I said before, I like Hamilton and McLaren.

I'm just more of a Red Bull chugger. Ha.

And if you doze off, it's been good talking to you today Nerd and GL with that girl from your "call out" thread from the other day. lol

Congrats to your team and driver. A well earned championship.

Lewis really has me scratching my head this season. What a lifeless race from him! I really think these Pirelli tires are not to his liking.

Now here is what I want to know. How does he improve? I don't feel like time spent in a Kart will help him much with tire management. He can't run tests in a grand prix car. I wonder if he can practice in a GP2 car?

I figure he gets time in the simulator.

But honestly, something I never considered, how do these guys get real hardcore practice? If Tiger wants to work on his swing, he can spend a week at the range, or if LeBron wants to improve his jumper he can head over to the YMCA.

Anyone have any reading or info on this?

That's a very good question. Due to all the restrictions the FIA has put on practice there is only a limited amount of time they practice in the offseason now. And the sessions before the race are to get a better feel for the car and the track.

As for GP2, that may just be what he needs. (some more seat time)

I guess the only answer is the simulator. But that is all fine and dandy but not sure how well you can actually get a feel for the car and all the G's involved so it may just not translate to results on the actual track.

I hope he gets it back soon, though. F1 is more fun to watch when he's more competitive.

Woot! Lewis Hamiton in pole position!!!!!!!

Come on! Get in there!!!

Once again drunk and awake for this race. Should be a good consolation race for everyone. lol

Brilliant race by Hamilton holding off Webber... RBR is just a machine though

Yeah, a great race! I really am concerned about Lewis Hamilton. I don't like this whole no smiling thing. My main thing is who else besides McLaren would pick him up? Would Ferrari take a gamble and run the risk of a another 2007? Could Red Bull really take a look at him? I have doubts about the quality of Mercedes, this was the former Honda team, which was always close but no cigar.

He needs to get his act together and sign to 5 years at McLaren. History tells us that Mclaren is a top flight team, except a dark period of 94-97.

So Lewis and Nicole are done.

Now he can focus on racing.

He needs to holla at Rihanna.

GRAND PRIX WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!!

Well it's another GP weekend folks!

This week takes us to the brand new, and undersold Indian Grand Prix. This is a Hermann Tilke track so it could either be a gem (Turkey), or it might be a snooze-fest (Valencia, Singapore, Yas Marina...).

Many teams seem to be looking towards 2012, but several are still working on their current racers. McLaren is trying to make a statement and are bringing out a new front wing, and Ferrari may do more testing for next year.

For me I am excited, my boy Lewis Hamilton, MBE, 2008 World Drivers Champion, seems to do well on new tracks so I hope he can deliver.

For more info on the track, look here: Indian Grand Prix | Delhi, India Circuit | ESPN F1

Really? Wow! Are they doing this in addition to Austin in 2013 or are they gonna rotate the tracks for the US Grand prix each year?

i think New Jersey will actually happen. who knows about Austin.

the Red Bull finally broke today. that team is going to be hard to beat next year too. overall, i enjoyed that race.

I think I have watched this race about 4 times since it first aired! I love it! This race along with China and Germany will be helpful in getting my through the long off-season. Hopefully Brazil in a fortnight will join it in my winter DVR collection.
