Vescovi reminds me of Dane Bradshaw...
1) He is not the fastest guy. (I think Vescovi might be a little slower than Bradshaw)
2) Started at point guard, but eventually changed positions (position change upcoming for Vescovi next season)
3) Plays hurt and gets beaten up by Volnation. :^)
4) Fans complained about their turnovers, and granted they both had some.
T/O-min asst-T/O
Bradshaw FR .85 1.17 (Bradshaw was the backup to CJ Watson, )
Vescovi FR .11 1.04 (Half season, no time to learn teammates)
Vescovi SO .12 1.57
5) He is the epitome of Team, before self.
6) He is not flashy, nor spectacular.
7) But is all heart and soul - giving it 100% all the time.
8) They both have a knack for making big plays
Dane was a better defender as a sophomore, but V had less time to develop (coming in mid year).
Vescovi is a much better shooter (3 pt),(according to the statistics) although slower on shot
Vescovi .360 (FR) .398 (SO) vs Bradshaw .222 (FR) .261 (SO) [Bradshaw was a
better shooter overall, to date]
Bradshaw was a better on driving to the basket.
Vescovi is significantly better at the FT line 81+ to 58 (Bradshaw
I am just trying to put in to perspective the player Vescovi really is, he is NOT a great point guard. But he is a decent one, maybe even a good one.
Let me say this, he appears to be a really good team player.
He is getting better.
Next year, I expect him to be a very good guard (and competing for time on the floor with Springer and Johnson [if they return .... please!!!!] ) AND a much improved point guard that shares time with KC. [Personally, I think KC becomes the starting point guard about mid way through the season.]
BTW, did you read that Keon saw himself as a forward at the collegiate level.
Keon Johnson at power forward? At one time, that was the goal :^)))))) That dunk last night ... well maybe he could!!!
