First 2 weeks went fairly well. Some improvement from week one to week 2 in the running game. The defense seemed to have a mental let down in both the games that let the other team score quickly. I believe ASU scored in 4 plays after the Vols scored in the 3rd qt.

1. Team - How will they handle their 1st road game. Composure and intensity. Still playing hard at end of game.

2. Offense - Can the line protect Worley? Running game needs to step it up a notch.

3. Defense - Overall I believe they will give a good accounting of themselves. If the offense stalls we will see a lot of players in and out to keep them fresh as possible through the entire game.

4. Special Teams - Really needs to play lights out. Medley needs to make all makeable FG's. Don't give up field position or easy scores.

Most of all "NO INJURIES". SEC schedule looming they need everyone.

I know these all simple every day things a team needs to do but they need a complete game and a little luck to win. VOLS 22 to 19.

Please add your thoughts.

If we can run it, we will win.

Someone posted on here yesterday that our O-line averaged 299 lbs. but Okla homo's D - line was around 325 lbs. on the average.

Good luck on pushing those D-linemen around. Maybe we can use sweeps, etc. and not run much in the middle.

1. Off tackle runs--haven't seen many of those yet.
2. More sacks.
3. Keep it up with the passing game.
4. Attack, Attack, Attack.

We will run it better if our WR screen game gets going.....that is the perimeter extended run for us...didn't see it against Arky St. We focused on actually handing it off in that game more.

Inaccurate information as UT doesn't have an OL under 300 lbs unless one considers a TE as an OL. No way OK's DL averages 325.

Agree, unless they have a 450 pound nose tackle in that 3-4. That's a lot of weight to spread around the average!

If their DL averages 325 lbs., so what? Why should we fear a slow, fat-assed DL that will be gassed by the third quarter? Our pace will wear them out!:good!:

If we want to run the football we need to change it up. The system we ran in the first 2 games will not work Saturday night. Hopefully they will add a fullback and pound the rock instead of trying to run cute.

We have been waiting for the run game for years..

If a 5 star rb couldn't get 100 yrds on our first two opponents the odds its happening this week is slim.

Look we have to play a complete game to beat OU on the road. We need to run it, throw it deep effectively and everything in between. We have to score at least 28 to have any shot. Even if our Defense plays well and forces a few turnovers, OU has a ton of play makers and they will move the ball.

And if we plan on beating ourselves at all we have less than no chance.

Worley will have to play the best game of his career thus far. Like him or leave him he's the focal point of this teams success. On that end he's carried out his end of the bargain so far aside from some deep throws. This week he has to have that added to the arsenal. If we only want to pass and worse only pass short things will suck.

Backs make some break away runs.

Our defensive backs keep an eye on the ball at all times.

The whole team ALERT all four quatrers.

Why will it?

I don't necessarily believe the running game will be much improved this week, but if it is, I can think of two things that could cause it. One could be just finding our best five O-linemen and having each in the best position, which I don't think we have done yet. A second reason it could be better is play calling. We really haven't shown many running plays yet, and I'm sure there will be some wrinkles on what Oklahoma has on film. Obviously, any gains could be offset by the caliber of Oklahoma's front 7, so even then, it may not look much improved.

Last week my four were:
1. Is Blair in the game?
2. Run game improvement?
3. Medley's performance?
4. Darr's ankle?

This week I'll watch for:
1. quick releases from Worley?
2. Maggit's impact?
3. our punt and kickoff coverage?
4. Medley's performance?

I don't expect a win. I'm optimistic that we will show improvement from weeks 1 and 2, unfortunately that improvement may not translate to the scoreboard simply because of the talent on the other side.

I want to see Worley getting the ball out quickly, especially early on in the game.

I want to see Maggit impact this game. AJ, JRM and Cam will show up. I want to see Curt show what he is capable of. I believe he can be a difference maker.

On the road against quality opponents - we need to have solid kick coverage. Momentum and field position are so important for an underdog visiting team...

I think Medley has the potential to be a good college kicker. The first big road game is yet another opportunity for him to continue to grow.

GBO!
