Truth is a defense. And if he sued over any of it he'd have to sit for a deposition, under oath. Trump will NEVER do that because he'd perjure himself and he knows it.
So you think Dominion has nothing to worry about in that respect? Do you think Dominion has a way to limit the questions that could be asked, and would you feel safe in thinking they will have Fox muzzled with a bunch of "legal niceties" so it will be a one sided affair? It seems that from your Trump comment that Dominion would have to basically prove that Fox lied by proving their systems were faultless. That would mean exposing their proprietary BS; the first thing most people learn in computer programming classes is how to add integers - at least it was when I had my first classes something like 50 years ago.
Dominion sued, opening themselves up to discovery.
And nothing emerged to validate the insane garbage spewed repeated on Fox. Ergo the claim and ergo the trial.
Sounds a lot like "never say never" thinking on Dominion's part. Claiming something is foolproof is risky business, and I think the ability to hack the systems was part of the story that Dominion critics were pushing. If systems are linked to send election numbers from one polling location to a central location and to news agencies for up to the moment counts, they aren't really isolated. If they aren't isolated, they are vulnerable. If they have vulnerabilities, then Fox can introduce doubt. Seems like a jury faced with a "he said" "she said" situation rather than a cut and dried case.
First, Fox can't speculate like that with no evidence.
Second, they can't continue to speculate when they are repeatedly shown that it is false, including over and over by the courts.
Third, Fox did far more than speculate, they put on people who claimed it actually did happen. But again with no evidence and despite being told that it was false.
Fourth, Fox did even more than that. They promoted the false narrative that Dominion was owned by some foreign government or foreign nationals. It was always vague. Because it was always false.
At the end of the day, Fox promoted this to make money. They knew their audience wanted to hear that the election result was falsified. It was about making money, the consequences to Dominion be damned. And that is why Dominion may well win this lawsuit.
Now apply this to the Steele Dossier.First, Fox can't speculate like that with no evidence.

Among the many lies that made their way onto Fox News, was a claim that Dominion had been founded by Hugo Chavez, and was owned by his family. That is easily disproven, and would not have taken much time to fact check. We'll see. I don't doubt that there are legal rules that would basically gag Fox. The thing is that the "state" and Dominion are the only entities with access to the systems and methodology in question - that was obvious when the courts found the claims "false". You can't really prove something if you don't have the evidence to prove it. The people who claimed there was foul play can't prove it because they don't hold the proof - all they can do is state what they observed. "He said" "she said" and Dominion rests easy because they control the evidence.

Again, I do not recall seeing this on Fox News, and actually had to look up who Sidney Powell was. As I said above, it seems you watch a lot more Fox News than I do.Both Sidney Powell and Rudy Giuliani repeated the claim on multiple Fox News shows ... without pushback from the hosts. One of the hosts, Lou Dobbs, was let go shortly after.
I don't watch Fox News, but I am familiar with the law suit. This claim is included. Perhaps, you should read Dominion's suit before commenting on it. If you really didn't even know who Sidney Powell was ... then you aren't even casually familiar with the story itself. She was a main figure in spreading lies concerning Dominion and the 2020 election.Again, I do not recall seeing this on Fox News, and actually had to look up who Sidney Powell was. Given your clarification here, your original post is a bit deceptive. While you did not explicitly say Fox News, as an organization, reported the Chavez claim as fact, it was implied and now it turns out it may have been claimed by guests. I say 'may have been claimed' because given that you have already had to clarify your original statement, I now wonder what this Sidney Powell and Giuliani actually said. However, I would offer some advice: when Giuliani is being interviewed, go to the kitchen or change channels. He's lost a lot and is throwing about a 40 mph fastball now.
Guilt as charged. Will not be wasting my time reading about it. Sounds like another "we got'em this time!" story. I'll wait for the next nth one, especially if, as it seems from your comment, the "main figure" may not even be a Fox employee.I don't watch Fox News, but I am familiar with the law suit. You should stick to discussing topics you know something about then. I have no idea what that could possibly include, however.Guilt as charged. Will not be wasting my time reading about it.
