Does this justify their show hosts and panelists manipulating their viewers with opinions, that they don't actually believe themselves?

According to this forum, apparently so. Whenever one of you tries to defend the unethical behavior of Fox News, it always begins with their ratings. As if the ends justifies the means.

Their on air personnel is manipulating you for ratings ... and you celebrate them for their success in exploiting your naive and gullible nature. It's pathetic.

I still hold that most of the cheating was done with ballots. If I had run an op, it would have survived an audit.

If you hack the machine without backing it with the paper, you can get caught. Granted, if you make the winning margin over the threshold for recount, you are likely to get by unnoticed though.

When the discussion is narrowed exclusively to the allegations that Sidney Powell was making against Dominion Voting Systems, on the Fox News prime time shows, there is not only an absence of proof in support of her claims, there is also this ....

Not only do the Fox News hosts not believe Sidney Powell's allegations, her own lawyers don't believe them either.

It has now been revealed that Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham didn't believe a word that Powell was saying, and yet, they repeatedly had her as a guest on their shows anyway, while they also continued to publicly express confidence that what she was alleging about Dominion was true. There is a strong case for defamation here. The Fox News hosts were making bad faith arguments .... just because that was good for their ratings. Once again, the Nielsen ratings are the only thing that the people at Fox News care about.

Give me a break BB. Does the Russia hoax ring a bell? What about crap like taking pics of somewhere in KY and saying it’s a firefight in another country? There are tons of examples of all MSM running stories they know aren’t true. There’s no true news anymore, it’s all entertainment disguised as “news”. You only care about one side of course.

Edit: Oh and don’t forget every news outlet running with Trump calling Neo-Nazis “very fine people” after Charlottesville when they all have the transcript and video of exactly what he said and it wasn’t that. They all do this crap.

So, you are saying that Fox News hosts are playing a character to get viewers? I agree with you. It's entertainment disguised as news. But, turn on ESPN, CNN, etc and you will see the same thing. Watch ESPN and you will see how each "character" uses certain aspects of their character to push whatever narrative ESPN wants to push that day...

Dominion Voting Systems employees have acknowledged serious problems with the company's technology, saying, for example, that a bug led to "INCORRECT results," according to discovery cited in the defense brief in Dominion's defamation lawsuit against Fox News.

In a legal brief made public Thursday, the news outlet cited information obtained from Dominion through discovery.

In a 2018 email Fox News obtained from Dominion Director of Product Strategy and Security Eric Coomer, he acknowledged the company's technology was marred by a "*critical* bug leading to INCORRECT results."

"It does not get much worse than that," he later added.

In 2019, Coomer lamented that "our products suck," adding that "'[a]lmost all' of Dominion's technological failings were 'due to our complete f--- up in installation,'" according to the defense brief.

Less than a week before the 2020 presidential election, Coomer conceded in an email that "our sh-t is just riddled with bugs."

None of this proves that Sidney Powell was correct when she said that Dominion Voting Systems was created in Venezuela to help Hugo Chavez rig elections in his favor. That was an outright lie, which is easily disproven, with a 5 minute internet fact check.

Fox News CEO, Rupert Murdoch, and the hosts of shows on Fox News (Maria Bartiromo, Lou Dobbs, Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham) were well aware that it was a lie, and yet, they still invited Sidney Powell on their shows anyway, and they did not voice objections when she repeated this lie numerous times on each of their shows. To the contrary, Maria Bartiromo expressed trust in her lie .... even though her deposition with Dominion's lawyers make it clear that she knew ahead of time that Powell was lying.

Text messages sent by Tucker Carlson make it clear that the producers and booking agents of Fox News were inviting Sidney Powell on their shows, because Fox News viewers believed this lie, and so it was good for their standing in the Nielsen ratings.

Basically, the hosts of Fox News were making bad faith arguments, in order to manipulate their viewership. That is despicable.
