I really don't mind losing the game now to the so called media experts. Let them have their 15 minutes of fame prior to game time, cuz we'll have our 24 hours of celebrating come Sunday Night - and that is all that matters!

This game sets up very well for pundits to pick against UT.

Here's what they know about Utah State:
They were pretty good last year
Chuckie Keeton is good and he'll be back

Here's what they know about UT:
They struggled last year
They're replacing all their starters on both lines
They brought in a good recruiting class

If those are the only facts you know picking the upset makes sense. What they don't seem to know is how many starters Utah State is replacing, who they're replacing their starters with, and who UT is replacing their lineman with.

I'll be mildly surprised if this game is close since Utah State is returning the fewest starters in division 1. I'm not an expert on Utah State myself but this seems like a big issue the pundits are all glossing over.

In 1992, when Arkansas & USC first became members of the S.E.C., we were supposed to beat them. Arkansas beat us on a long punt return at the end of the game and USC beat us because Johnny didn't want to accept a tie.

I, personally think this game will be a close call. Like the Air Force game in 2007 or like the UAB game in 2010. We will walk back to the locker room, just grateful for a win.

They are writing for the press and readership. Nothing but crap because they don't get it. Without wet conditions should be a 21+ point win. Raining 13 to 17 points.

CBJ will have these kids ready and prepared. Its just different that the two coaches we have had before. This game is too important for a lackadaisical effort and under DD USU would be favored and I would be worried, but it is Butch Jones not DD or Flippin K.

Yep. This is a good example of why I say that the average sports writer is no more knowledgeable than the average fan.

They typically don't spend as much time following any one team. They are just more objective.

When the guy posted that there were doudts of us beating NC State, Western Ky. & Cincinnati, I merely posted that there are also examples of when we were favored to win but didn't.
So, it goes both ways.

Also, you have to use examples of 2 decades ago, coaches that are no longer here.

People will go to the extreme to cast doubt.....and only look at the negative aspect of something even using 22 year old information and 3 coach changes remove to validate their point.

My point was that a poster gave examples of games in which some had us predicted to lose the game but we ended up winning.
I merely posted to the contrary and gave examples of us being predicted to win a game but ended up losing.
Some people will go to the extreme just to give examples of us winning a game that we might have been predicted to lose.

Not if Butch had anything to say about it. He's been very clear he doesn't like his teams playing on emotion, which he says has highs but then also has lows. He prefers passion to emotion.

I'm not usually a fan of running up the score on a mid major, but after all that talk from the media and their fans, I hope we hang 60 on them.

Think about that. If at any moment Gray has to cover Croom, Croom will have about an 8 inch height advantage and damn near 80 pounds on him. That's not even fair.

Sunday can't get here fast enough. This team will either really surprise some folks or not be very good. Can't wait to find out.

This. They have to put some upset picks out there and we're simply an easy mark based on our recent history. It is popular to pick us to lose right now, that will change soon.

Most fans are similar to sports writers.

If I ask most of these posters to break down a a game film they would think they were in Pre-Calculus and wouldn't have a clue. So for the life of me trying to second guess the coaches who implement the scheme and game plan is beyond me.

These guys are around these kids 24/7 and already know their strengths and weaknesses. What gives you the right as a fan to question them if the result isn't what the fan wanted?

What is the media gonna say if we take them to the woodshed?? I don't hink we will lose but if we did don't know how it could be called a upset, its not like the media thinks we will do anything this year.
