I want to revive this thread with a link to this Washington Post story:

3 Anchors to Follow Obama's Trek Abroad

The three network anchors will travel to Europe and the Middle East next week for Barack Obama's trip, adding their high-wattage spotlight to what is already shaping up as a major media extravaganza.

Lured by an offer of interviews with the Democratic presidential candidate, Brian Williams, Charlie Gibson and Katie Couric will make the overseas trek, meaning that the NBC, ABC and CBS evening newscasts will originate from stops along the route and undoubtedly give it big play.

John McCain has taken three foreign trips in the past four months, all unaccompanied by a single network anchor.

no Fox anchor is going with the Obamassiah and no Fox anchor (or major personality like O'Reilly or Hannity) has ever accompanied McCain on a single trip abroad or even domestically.

even the most blind Obama supporter should be able to see what's going on here. Whether or not they'll have the intellectual honesty to admit it remains to be seen.

clearly there is only bias at Fox

When McCain visited Britain, France and Israel in March and met with their leaders, no network anchors tagged along. NBC and ABC sent correspondents; CBS did not. None of the evening newscasts covered his trip to Canada last month. And McCain's swing through Colombia and Mexico two weeks ago was barely covered, although NBC and ABC sent correspondents.

This is the first ever media sponsored campain rally on foreign soil. They say that they went with Reagan, but it was not to glorify him.

Nah...they are just covering him like they would when he visits any of his other states. Remember, he will actually be President of the World.

I can't read this post b/c I'm blind, of course, but a friend is typing this as I dictate:

The media is about ratings. Obama's trip obviously will draw huge ratings, therefore they're making a big deal of it. He's a rock star. McCain isn't. And rock stars get the coverage.

I don't approve of this form of journalism, but the bottom line here is their bottom line.

Failing to cover either of the candidates' trips does not equal "behaving more appropriately."

Well, you should feel really good when I tell you I've never been anything but a capitalist. In theory, every system sounds great. In practice, any system can get completely screwed up by human nature (greed, sloth, etc.) and needs to be kept in check. I think capitalism is the best, but of course it's not perfect.

I'm sure you and others see me as the second coming of Karl Marx, but in fact I work in perhaps one of the most capitalistic industries that exist. I guess I'm just not threatened by the word "government" like many on here seem to be.

You may think there is a subtle liberal media bias in the other networks, but Fox is just blatant about it.

Where was that explanation 25 pages ago when LG said FOX is Crap and Biased?

Could have saved about 24 pages. :)
