CT says: James Franklin does not have an “official” Penn State offer. I’ve been told by multiple people that he’ll accept offer if made.

Penn State: Athletic director Dave Joyner has released a statement: "The search for the new leader of the Penn State football program is progressing very well. We are on schedule and I anticipate having the new head coach in place in a matter of days. The search is robust as we anticipated it would be and we have an excellent pool of candidates. I have heard from many coaches, or their representatives, who have expressed their interest in the position."

I don't think anyone knows anything.

I'll be surprised if Franklin gets it.

From sources close to the situation, #PennState has yet to offer anyone the job. Reports about an offer are inaccurate.

No one is ever really offered until they accept, and no one accepts until they are offered. It's all hypotheticals and "discussions" until both come to the same place. That way, everybody has deniability. . . . Unless you are Tennessee and Charlie Strong.

Now VandyMania is getting really good. The natives are restless; some are still convinced he's going nowhere, but others are starting to already turn on Franklin. One thread started is already saying good riddance (so far it's only one guy but still).

Hilarious.

Do coaches really care about any team they coach for, i think very rarely.....they always go to where the money is.
If i coached for a team 4-5 seasons n had built them up I would wanna see my rewards and see team do great.
Franklin was doin good at vandy so why jump off n run to psu? Ahh buddy,

It shows how ridiculous their fans are that they are shocked that he'd leave for a bigger program.

News release saying Panera Bread and Barnes & Noble will have extended hours tonight for any Vandy fans who want to follow the coverage. PBS has also delayed all broadcasting to cover this breaking story.

So the Vandy coordinators are now following PSU recruits? That's kind of funny that they didn't think anyone would notice that.

Plenty of reasons. For one nobody knows what's going on behind the scenes. They play nice in public but who knows if Franklin is happy with the admin in private. Secondly, I honestly think Franklin feels he's topped out at Vandy. It's not going to get much better, and even though he has them doing the best they ever have, he still can't get 30K to the stadium each Saturday.

Getting support at PSU won't be an issue.

Yea, really Vandy is maxed out. As much as I hate to admit it, Franklin is a good coach. Put the rape scandal aside because they never proved that he knew anything about it. Teams want to win, and if Franklin can do it at Vandy, he most certainly can do it at PSU. I hope he stays one more year, so after we stomp Vandy's ass next year there won't be any excuses.
