Just got back from the HVA vs. Farragut game and settling in for the night while I wait up for my 16 year old to get home from the weekly post-game Cookout meetup with half of Knoxville’s youth (Lord bless those poor employees). Handful of activities with the kids in the morning (football for the youngest, ballet practice for the girl, track workout for the oldest) then firing up the Traeger for some shotgun shells and smoked Mexican street corn that will hopefully be ready around halftime.

True story.

I noticed I only had red solo cups in my stash. Got people coming over tomorrow. Unacceptable.

Went and got clear cups (they were out of orange. Go Vols)

I used orange peppers in my chili.

And I bought my boys orange Hawaiian Punch.

It’s Bama Hate week!!! No crimson or anything close to it. I accidentally cut myself chopping those peppers. But I bleed orange so it was fine!!!

I'll be at home in Gallatin with about 20 VOL friends we tailgated with last week. Cooking a couple gallons of gumbo and smoking a couple pork loins for sliders. Plenty of cigars with high hopes!
My son lives in Gallatin, actually in Bethpage now. He owns the Gallatin Car Wash. GBO

Errands in the morning, and then headed to the local (Athens, GA area) UT fans group watch party for the game in the afternoon. Afterwards, it is a distinct possibility I'll end up at an area brewery after the game.
I'll be at work, but if any puppy fans give you trouble, I can be there in about 45 minutes on a Saturday evening 🤣

And the Angel did pour forth the contents of his bowl
And the sky did turn orange
And the waters did reflect this orange
And the innocent children were clad in orange and white
And a pit did open up
And the sinners did wail and rend their crimson garments as they fell into it
But the innocents clad in orange and white were not afraid and did rejoice at the coming of the Orange

I'm deep in enemy territory on Smith lake. My buddy down here has the only Tennessee Orange boat around on his dock, and we are going to hit the water after breakfast before heading to the game. Driving down, we came through Guntersville, and it looks like you are crossing the intercoastal to 30A or Destin.

I'll rag Alabama all day, but the lakes down here are legit.

Drove to Meridian, rolling early in the morning, meeting bama friends at innisfree pub and pretending to be nice! While secretly hoping UT ruins their day! Lol! Golf cart to the game and lets Go Vols! Hope I am choking after the game from my own cigar smoke and hope I can yell Hey Bama, we beat the hell out of you!

I'll let you know which Waffle House parking lot is selected, buddy. The one near the corner of Macon Highway and South Milledge is a solid option because there's that larger adjacent lot shared by Fooks Foods and China 1 to spill into if extra space is needed, and the topography creates a bit of a natural arena, to a degree. All in all though, I'm not expecting trouble, haha.

You guys know the drill, who is going to the game tomorrow? If not, where are you watching and what's on the menu? Any good high school football games tonite? What other college games are you excited to watch tomorrow?
Hanging w grandpa Millard this morning sharing some sausage and biscuits. Will bring some wood in for his stove. He has gas heat but wants the fire for “his old bones”. He knows more about farming than my professors at college-I’ll learn a bit more today. Such a great example! Love my granddad!!! 😁

Making some smoked sausage rolls (with orange and white cheddar) for gametime snacks. The dog will get his white storm troopers jersey just before the game along with his Bama mascot toy - where he partially ripped the head off last year. We figure he will finish it off this year!

Your grandpa sounds like my kinda guy. I’ll be picking cotton in the Hatchie river bottom in Hardeman county until late thirty tonight. Wish I could watch the game in real time but that’s life . I will be 68 next spring. Retiring this winter and turning everything over to the grandsons.
