Headed to Knoxville tomorrow morning with the wife. Cant wait! First time back in Neyland since Ole Miss game in '21. Hoping this one turns out a little differently. GBO!!

Welcome back, Woodrow! We know you won't tolerate any A&M rude behavior.

I try to watch at least one game a year with my step son and my dad, all three of us together. We’re getting together tomorrow and grilling out for it. Dad got me into UT football and I’m hoping to do the same for the boy (hasn’t caught on yet, but we’ve not got him to Neyland yet and that’s what got me). Last year it was the Alabama game, will be hard to top but hoping for a similar result!

Visiting friends for a long weekend in Solana Beach just north of San Diego. Good beer, tequila, wine and food.

Will watch the game tomorrow at a great Mexican joint.
I got a cousin in San Diego!

I feel your pain, got strep throat and fever, morphed into covid. I managed all this time to avoid it til now. Have to admit, I’m kinda wiped out. BUT, hell or high water, I will be ready for 3:30 tomorrow-on the sofa.
I finally got out and walked the dog for a mile today. I passed out when we got home. My energy level is pitiful.

Gonna update about my wife, since I've posted before in here, and some have asked. I'd mentioned the plan is to go to USC Keck medical center for a bladder transplant, it'll be the first one. Part of the plan was to insert these tubes through her kidneys, and all the way through to her stoma, and flush her system with an antibiotic treatment. She's normally on IV antibiotics, but had been off less than a week when we went last Tuesday for the tubes. Nobody knew at the moment, but in those few days, she had a horrible build up of infection in her kidneys. When they inserted the tubes, they actually got them in, the infection immediately went into her blood, and she went into septic shock. She's been septic before, but never had septic shock. They called me back immediately, because they didn't think she was going to make it. It was bad, worse feeling ever to have to watch her like that. She was convulsing so hard, the hospital bed was literally moving. We spent a few days in ICU, and thank God and the medical team, she came home this afternoon. She has some issues from what happened, can't walk good and has to use a walker, and weak overall, but they said she should regain full strength in a couple of weeks. Helpless feeling watching your wife almost died, thinking she's going to. All that said, it's just where she is. She can't live apart from IV treatment, just few days, and she had so much infection it caused that. The bladder transplant is a big risk, but she's at the point of wanting to try that, vs living life like she is. Poor girl, Drs and an IV pole is her every day, and it's hard. Like I said, some have asked me to keep it updated, and I know some of you are praying for her, please continue. The plan is still to do the transplant, but gonna have to keep her on IV treatment until the surgery, and do the antibiotic flush through the tubes. Appreciate you all that has been praying for her.

Do you have COVID 19 or the new strain of it that I can't remember what they're calling it? As of last two weeks ago there were only a handful of cases of the new strain.

I hope you feel better ASAP.

Spent some time with the hubs today after work. Went to lunch, then the range. It’s been a couple years since I’ve shot, but I still got it. I’m not really sure what we’re doing tomorrow except watching the game. I’m also interested in watching the KY/Mizzou and SC/FL games. Sunday we’re taking our son to a pumpkin patch then taking my MIL to dinner for her birthday.

I am so sorry that she has to go through that. That’s awful. When is the transplant? My heart goes out to you both.

I’m heading home from destin fl. Without a doubt the best beach and the best food I’ve ever experienced. to unfortunately I think my math has us hitting Knoxville around the end of the game so best case scenario I watch on a phone worst case scenario I watch on a phone in traffic(don’t worry I’m not drivin)as far as food goes it’s probably going to be cracker Barrel as much as I’d love it to be Buckys I just ask you keep us in your prayers and thoughts also please make Gary Danielson ears bleed

I can't imagine a beach having prettier or softer sand than Destin's sugar beaches. Is there an entree you had that is your favorite? (I love seafood in general too).

My favorite fish to eat is flounder with butter or lemon butter. Grilled Tuna is a close second.

Beyond that I like scallops a LOT, broiled or baked. Clams are a close second. Lobster; broiled or baked is 3rd if it's locally caught and fresh otherwise, clams would be 3rd.

Thank you. The plan is to do the flushing for about 3 weeks, hopefully it clears out her kidneys, and we're going. It's not like a normal transplant, nobody is waiting for a bladder. He said he can put the word out, and have one in hours.

One of my suite-mates made a very large and thick "meat lovers" lasagna that has beef, Italian sausage and prosciutto in it. It is now cooling off and he's asked that we don't eat any of it tonight so it has that "that second day taste" for that game.

For the Vols game I'm making a huge salad, baked Brussel sprouts, Steamed spinach, steamed Asparagus and some kind of baked nachos. At kick off, I'll order a bunch of burritos and tex-mex stuff that should arrive just before half time.

I'm sorry to hear about all you're dealing with. I just posted about what I thought are problems with my room mates, but you post makes me realize I don't have real problems and that I'm just whiny. I feel like I know Jesus well and will pray for you and your wife.

I'll be slightly NE of Charleston, SC, squeezed up near the Atlantic Ocean, watching at home. Occasionally, my wife will check on me if I'm screaming and throwing things. She'll roll her eyes and say 'I'm sure things'll get better', etc.

I'll keep this on while keeping an eye on another screen as to what is really important and happening in this world...things so much more important than even this thing we love so much. Keep your eyes on the East, for it could be that we're all here for such a time as this. (Esther 4:14)

BTW, just got back from five nights in Vegas...it's all coke and fizzy water for me for awhile..lol

Later today, my wife will be hosting her annual bike washing party for her cycling pals. Of course, I will perform host duties so that she can focus on helping guests clean their bicycles. CFB will be on the big TV in the den, but muted. As this affair will likely extend through the first part of Tennessee’s game, I may miss a play or two. Dagnabbit.

I’m babysitting this weekend for two of my grandkids. My daughter and son in law have a wedding to go to in Davenport Iowa. My grandson (6 years old) loves football so we’ll be watching. Granddaughter will be at dance class most of the day.
