Watch parts of the pregame shows ( it’s getting more and more difficult
to watch them ), coffee and a couple of pieces of toast .Bloody Mary by
11am Eastern. Flip thru the channels and catch part of a few games.
I‘m sorry, but my 79 year old heart ( even with the help of a pacemaker)
will not allow me to watch the Vols unless it is a really easy game. Do
what ever it takes to kill time until I think the UT game is over; watch an
old movie, go for a walk, etc. Check the scores about an hour after i
think the game is over. Either celebrate or fight off depression. Sometimes
I don’t check the scores until the next morning. I still can’t get over the
wake up to the 2001 SEC Championship game !
BVS is strong in this one. I know exactly how you feel, it's like it is easier to take a loss if you didn't experience it first hand, but then again there is true joy in watching when things go our way .i.e. against Alabama last year.

I'm sorry to hear about all you're dealing with. I just posted about what I thought are problems with my room mates, but you post makes me realize I don't have real problems and that I'm just whiny. I feel like I know Jesus well and will pray for you and your wife.
Thank you

Gonna update about my wife, since I've posted before in here, and some have asked. I'd mentioned the plan is to go to USC Keck medical center for a bladder transplant, it'll be the first one. Part of the plan was to insert these tubes through her kidneys, and all the way through to her stoma, and flush her system with an antibiotic treatment. She's normally on IV antibiotics, but had been off less than a week when we went last Tuesday for the tubes. Nobody knew at the moment, but in those few days, she had a horrible build up of infection in her kidneys. When they inserted the tubes, they actually got them in, the infection immediately went into her blood, and she went into septic shock. She's been septic before, but never had septic shock. They called me back immediately, because they didn't think she was going to make it. It was bad, worse feeling ever to have to watch her like that. She was convulsing so hard, the hospital bed was literally moving. We spent a few days in ICU, and thank God and the medical team, she came home this afternoon. She has some issues from what happened, can't walk good and has to use a walker, and weak overall, but they said she should regain full strength in a couple of weeks. Helpless feeling watching your wife almost died, thinking she's going to. All that said, it's just where she is. She can't live apart from IV treatment, just few days, and she had so much infection it caused that. The bladder transplant is a big risk, but she's at the point of wanting to try that, vs living life like she is. Poor girl, Drs and an IV pole is her every day, and it's hard. Like I said, some have asked me to keep it updated, and I know some of you are praying for her, please continue. The plan is still to do the transplant, but gonna have to keep her on IV treatment until the surgery, and do the antibiotic flush through the tubes. Appreciate you all that has been praying for her.
Praying for you guys Joe.

Thank you. The plan is to do the flushing for about 3 weeks, hopefully it clears out her kidneys, and we're going. It's not like a normal transplant, nobody is waiting for a bladder. He said he can put the word out, and have one in hours.
I was a little curious if a donor bladder "match" was difficult to find, but thankfully not I guess. There's "organ networks" for common transplant organs, but this is cutting edge (eewww, pun unintended.)

Godspeed to your wife. Prayers going up for her comfort, faith, and courage.

I was curious about that, so I asked him when we did a zoom call. He said their area, LA, is tops in organ harvesting, and he'd have one no matter the blood type in hours, since nobody in the world is waiting for one.

Do you have COVID 19 or the new strain of it that I can't remember what they're calling it? As of last two weeks ago there were only a handful of cases of the new strain.

I hope you feel better ASAP.
I only took a covid19 home test.

Thank you, finally trending better.

On a large icy island, just south of the artic circle. Used some internet trickeration and got the CBS sports feed to load. Unless, something charges or I lose the satellite internet signal, I'll be watching from about 3,500 miles away. Woohoo! Go Vols!
