Prayers sent Joe!!!Thank you. Long story short, she lost her bladder in 2018, and has had constant infection since. They use part of your bowel to do everything after removing the bladder, and with her, the bacteria goes straight to her kidneys. There's some Drs at Keck medical center at the university of Southern California who are going to try to help. If nothing goes wrong, she's going to be the first ever bladder transplant patient. They're going to undo the current setup, and give her a new bladder. It's risky, but we're at a point of desperation. Worse case, they said they can fix her, but they want her to get a bladder, and be normal again.
I actually work.for a large med device maker that is top of the game in the urology space and we have been keeping a close on true bladder transplants...my deepest hope that she is the first, or one of the first, and all goes well !!!
