Freak's Friday before the Florida game, admittedly off topic thread

Wife and I are headed down I-75 to Gainesville for our first experience in the swamp. Have heard all the horror stories some have posted on here, but we'll just have to take our chances. Plus, when you're 6'3" and 250+ lbs, people tend to leave you alone. Went to Baton Rouge last year and had a wonderful time. Here's hoping this trip turns out the same. After that we're heading on to Cocoa Beach for a few days. Go Vols!!!
Last time I went to the Swamp was the last time Tennessee won there. Fulmer threw his Gatorade drenched hat into the stands to us afterward. Hope you have a similar experience with the Vols success.

It's not a superstition as much is it is a stress reliever. I tape EVERY single Vol game and have for decades. The hard part is keeping away from my cell and TV, so as to not spoil the surprise. In fact, last year I was at a backyard party with mostly church friends one Fall Saturday night and cell was off and no TV on. And just as i was saying my goodbyes, out of the blue, a 75 year old church friend blurts out "OMG, Tennessee just beat Alabama". I screamed and cried and probably said some bad words. The perils of taping a game are real but, I gotta do it. Go Vols, and perhaps someday I can watch our games LIVE!!

Not going this year. My buddy from undergrad was a Prof at UF for like ten years but moved on to a new gig within the last year or two.

The Gainesville games were a good opportunity to catch up. Also never had to worry about hotel rooms, etc lol.

Just gonna watch this one from the couch. Pizza and boneless jerk chicken wings are on the menu.

No pics of the mancave right now. Felt sorry for a little kitten I found sleeping (and almost dead) behind my garage a month or so ago. Love the little bugger by this point, but he's chaos incarnate right now and my house looks like a hurricane went through lol.

In 2016, we beat fla for the first time in 'forever'... so my wife says, "this is historic - let's checkerboard the front yard!"; so just before Home Depot closes that night, we buy a dozen cans of spray paint, and 'til after midnight, sneak around trying not to wake the neighbors. So around 1:30 am, we're sittting around on the front wall, a bit sweaty, sipping wine, holding hands, thinking about what fun it would have been growing up as kids together. Probably my best Vol memory ever (though the W over Penn State, first night game ever in Neyland) is a close second... Think I'll swing by HD after golf today and get a couple of cans of paint; seems like it'd be a good omen.
Did you take a picture?
