Drove up to Knoxville today. Going to the pregame show at the Bijou later. Can't wait to hear Thomas Edwards.
Will you share the secret to how you made these pom pants? 🤯 My Dad and I are traveling to see our Vols play at all the SEC stadiums and I would LOVE to make and wear a pair of these all over the SEC!

As for my gameday plans.. Wont compare to being in Knoxville last weekend, but will be taking my girls to a fall fest in the AM and then home to watch the games starting at noon. Cooking up some stew and a pumpkin roll and then making my husband do bedtime so I can watch the game. 🤣🧡

Did a lot of running around today to get tailgate supplies. I’m ready to run through a brick wall. Tailgate starts at 8AM tomorrow! Let’s go roast these chickens

Grilling some ribeyes tonight and watching some of these games . Pretty solid Friday night slate. Taking my 2 and a half yo to Gameday in the morning at Duke. It’s kind of a once in a lifetime thing around here. I’m going to tailgate before the Duke vs Notre Dame and I have a ticket for the game, but I said NO. I’m not missing our game versus South Carolina . I’ve been waiting for this since last November .
Where's the tailgating place. That was unheard of during our days in durham, but I enjoyed covering the Mike Dunn-led Blue Devils and time in press box with John Feinstein. Was hoping he would join the Morning-Herald sports staff. We had a couple opening about the time John graduated. One spot went to a guy my age from Asheville and another to a Chronicle staffer, Good fortune for him as it eventually led him to Wash Post sports staff\

Love that you're doing that with your dad!

I used flannel pajama pants, and white and orange plastic table cloths. I cut them into strips about 16 inches (best I remember), and put 10 strips of each color together and tied in a knot, and sewed them on in bundles. It was a LOT of plastic. 😂 And the pants are heavy as hell if they get wet (it rained at the uscjr game in 2009, but it Halloween, I had to wear them!)

If UGA is going to lose in the regular season, it might as well be to the Vols when UGA is ranked #1 - I believe that would benefit the Vols the most. js
No it wouldn't, That would mean they are undefeated and even if we did beat them they would still be in the SEC title game because of the tiebreaker with UF.

It’s just in parking lot next Wallace Wade. Nothing too special.

Dear Dr Freak,
I live far away and will be watching the game at home on tv. My question is, should I wear all black?

Other than potential bad juju that could occur due to me not wearing orange on gameday, I am also very concerned that dark mode (turning living room lights off) might cause my wife to spill the beers she will bring me on demand.

Your advice is greatly appreciated.
- I4Vols

Ps: Patient confidentiality means you can't tell my wife about the second concern.

A big Tennessee win and a Georgia loss (they're 14.5 point favorites) would make for a nice little Saturday.
I'd likely get death threats for what I'd put on Facebook, but I'm ready for when Georgia loses. I hope it's tomorrow 🤣

I came in to work over about 8 hours just to help. 3 people called out, and now I'm doing their jobs 🤣. I'm going home at 3:30, 11 hours is enough on my day off.

Late to the party this week.
Took the wife to see her ABSOLUTE favorite performer...Elle King with Jelly Roll tonight.
It was beyond amazing show!!!

Going to have a very low key Saturday and probably do Taco Soup in the Crockpot for gametime.

My son and I are headed down from NC this morning. He’s a 22 year old App State grad but a rabid VOL fan. We are going to get some good food and visit the ag campus, tailgate etc. We have an extra pair of tickets in the lower south end zone - section L. They are just above the first main walkway south of the goalposts. I have them listed on Ticketmaster but can pull them and get them to some vol fans for a solid price.
