Freak's Friday before the S.Carolina game, admittedly off topic thread

Was he really funny, or funny because it doesn't take much to make you laugh?
His timing is perfection, which is a lot of make or break for a comedian imo. The show was really more pep rally then comedy show, and I LOVED that!

I thought he was really funny.

I'm going to tilt a windmill because I can't sleep:

1. Why hate any team or state? It seems like it's a lot of emotion and energy that could be used elsewhere?

2. Georgia is one of the states Tennessee relies on to form it's team. So do you think UT should stop recruiting from there? ie, your hate can be that deep if you have GA players on your team.

3. What did Georgia do that's hate-worthy?
It's just fun🤣. I take a lot of smack living here, especially during all of our bad years. So any time they lose, I get to take my shots back..

Late to the party this week.
Took the wife to see her ABSOLUTE favorite performer...Elle King with Jelly Roll tonight.
It was beyond amazing show!!!

Going to have a very low key Saturday and probably do Taco Soup in the Crockpot for gametime.
Bought my daughter and I tickets to see him in Lexington on October 10th. Can't wait.

Today is our anniversary and I'm hoping to scream "Touchdown Tennessee" at least 7 times. Have a lot of chores to do around the house today and plan on fixing shrimp and grits. We'll go out for dinner somewhere tomorrow night. Who says a Vegas wedding doesn't last?
Happy Anniversary!!

Last night was at Ruoff, which is an outdoor amphitheater. I can't imagine what that show will be like in Rupp...ENJOY!!!

Tell me more about this taco soup.

I've only had Taco Soup once. My mom made it and she didn't like how it came out. I liked it, most people did. I look for it on menu's and food trucks, but have never seen it since.

IF your in the mood, I think several to many people here would be interested in the recipe you're going to follow if it's something that's written down. And/or pics of your process as you make it. Many of us like food prep pics.
Simple, low key recipe...like stupid simple.

1lb ground beef - We add a chopped onion, a chopped bell pepper, and a bit of garlic or garlic powder when frying the burger.
2 cans of black beans, drained
2 cans of chili ready tomatoes
1/2 jar of medium salsa (surprisingly we use the cheap store brand stuff and it seems better)
2 packets of Taco Seasoning...don't scrimp here, get the McCormicks
1 block.of cream cheese - cut this in cubes and soften in the microwave before adding
8 ounces (1 small bag) of Shredded sharp cheddar
Beef broth...make sure it's beef and we use the stuff that comes in paper box and usually don't use the whole.container. Probably about 2/3, but you can add more to get the consistency you like.

Just brown the burger with the onion and pepper.
Add that to the Crackpot, dump in everything else (like I said, we only start with about 2/3 of the broth so.we can dial consistency).
We set it to high for an hour or two, then turn down to low or even warm.

Goes well with about any cold beer and some.nice white corn chips.

We are both looking so forward to our time together. Got a room at the Marriott so we can walk to the concert and don't have to drive home. Not that we over imbibe, but it'll be a late night for sure. On the way down we're going to stop at the Woodford Distillery and take a tour. My husband works construction a few days a week because he's retired and bored and they have been working on dismantling the founder's original log cabin and then reassembling it on a new foundation. Will be a tasting room when it's done. He brought home some of the old boards that they weren't going to reuse, planed them down and made a really nice toy box for our great granddaughter.

And if they're sampling the Woodford Double Double Oaked, it's quite the "dark mode" bourbon but don't pass on it. Enjoy!

Thank you. I'm not really a bourbon person but my daughter is and we have a few nice bottles in the bar downstairs. I tried a couple and I gotta say that Basil Hayden was really aggressive. Wine is more my thing. Have a Barolo in the wine fridge that has been whispering to me for a while now. I think that cork may see light this evening! But I will keep an eye out for your recommendation when we're at the distillery, would make a perfect Christmas present.
