He’s only running through the T, so on limited duty. His handlers/trainers said he wasn’t quite ready yet.
Poor pup. My English setter gets terrified if I make a loud noise cooking dinner in the kitchen. I can't imagine what it takes to acclimate a dog (or any other animal, for that matter) to the sights and sounds of a college football stadium. Hopefully, Smokey XI gets used to it all ASAP.

Our golden retriever loves it when he sees the shotgun case and waders in the truck... blueticks are gun dogs and typically should be calm around loud noises.

woohoo first Friday before the game post for 2024. I will not be traveling to the game but I will be watching it live. I am making nacho's for the game and hope to celebrate many times with Rocky Top.

8 minutes left in the 3rd OK/Temple game, OK up 37-0 and they still have all the starters in the game.

Wife will be on a girls trip to Chattanooga this weekend, so I’m having my cousin over and I’m gonna make “chopped cheese” on the Blackstone (google it, it’s delicious). I have 2 TVs set up in the rec room and another in the outside pavilion. We plan on watching the Vols on the main TV, Georgia/Clemson on the other, then watching Florida-Miami, and later aTm-ND.

It’s the best time of the year. College football is back.

I'm here. Not much to add. Actually have the day off, I work in the service industry so that's rare, so this will be one of, if not the only game I'll not watch on DVR after work.
Pumped for the season and, I have to admit, even more pumped for the basketball season but that opinion is for another forum.
I recently moved to Albuquerque and will be able to watch the Lobos take on Arizona as well. They don't have much of a chance to win, which makes rooting for the local team actually interesting for the first time in my life. In the last decade and a half living in the Carolinas, I never once considered rooting for the Tarheels or the 2 bigs in SC. Rooting for the local team that is a perennial underdog with absolutely no obnoxious fans that I've run across yet will be be fun. If they loose, meh, if they win, all right! Way to go home team!
So maybe I did have a little bit to add.
I'll be meeting my parents in Norman on 9/21 on their way to visit me. That should be a good time as well but that's a story for another thread.
Cheers y'all and GO VOLS!

The Friday night pregame off topic threads are back for 2024!

Tomorrow is the day we've all been waiting for since the victory against Iowa in the Citrus Bowl on January 1st.

First off, roll call. If you're going to the game, let us know. I especially like to hear how far people are traveling to get there. Who's traveling the furthest? The dedication some people have to make these long trips is outstanding.

Those not going, what's your plan? Watching with friends/family? Going out to a bar/restaurant? What's on the food menu?

What else is on your agenda this weekend? Anyone catching a high school game tonight? What other NCAA games are you looking forward to this weekend?

Interesting Top 25 matchups include Clemson/Georgia and Notre Dame/Texas A&M. Miami at Florida might be fun. We also have USC/LSU on Sunday.

Whatever is on your mind tonight before the game, post it here.

Go Vols!
It’s 40 ft to the fridge and back!

I moved to Casper, WY 2yrs ago so know exactly what this is like. These folks are passionate about their Cowboys and it is absolutely precious. I attended a game last November, and the game day atmosphere n tiny stadium, well… bless their hearts.

We had dinner at THE FEED in downtown Chatt then my daughter said yes as her boyfriend took her to a park and proposed. Then we headed to the engagement party. I’m already feeling like Steve Martin in Father of the Bride. Goodbye all the Benjamins.

Congratulations

@Freak I have missed this thread as much as I have college football in general for the past 8 months. It's good to be back! Kicked the weekend off by playing 9 holes with my wife and 2.5 year old daughter tagging along in the cart. My daughter loves just being out there and I'm hoping she'll want to start swingin' the sticks one of these days. We grabbed dinner after, then i put my daughter to bed and have been reading and daydreaming about the Vols putting up 100 tomorrow. Just gonna watch it at the house with the fam and have a lazy day watching ball and hanging with the fam tomorrow. We bought 1/3rd of a cow a few weeks ago and are throwing some NY strips on the grill tomorrow night. Go Vols and everyone enjoy the weekend!
