I think there's plenty to criticize about the war in Iraq, but people had better come to terms with the fact that the threat of domestic terror is very very real.
I cant believe we have not had any more since 911.

O stop using logic, we can send more troops, more money, get right in the middle of their civil war, or they will fight us here:crazy: look under your bed to find hidding terrorist.

I cant believe we have not had any more since 911.

How do you mock the idea that there is a threat of domestic terrorism and then turn around in your very next post and say you can't believe there haven't been more attacks?

Bush uses it as a tool for goin to war, thats what I mean. I do think there is a threat but Iraq is not a cure.

I agree. However, I don't think it helps the situation to continue to breed hatred by acting as an occupying force in a Muslim country.

Exactly. We can pull out and make some people happy, But people need to realize that is not the end of it. I don't foresee an end for many years.

Fred Thompson is all but declared. America needs man like Fred in this position to close gaps left by W, and slick Willy. This is a man who has publicly stated that the french are currently making more sense than US house is. He stands firm on Border issues, abortion, the war in Iraq. His positions are laid out plain and simple unlike the current administration. I don't feel as though W has been the worst prez in history, just a man who is poor at communication skills. Fred stands strong and defined on all issues and will make it known in plain and simple word why he feels the way he does. Even if you disagree with some of the issues, you will see his point and he feels this way. Here stands our chance as americans to leave it all on the table and fix some real issues. He won't be perfect but he acknowledges the real problems like the American publics current distrust of our own political system. And last but not least who doesn't love the way he responded to Micheal Moore in the video, if you have not seen the video go to youtube and watch. Fred Thompson in '08, America's last hope before we begin praying to Allah a few times per day.

just poor communication skills, huh? ok, and Hitler was just a little overzealous.

The end of it? Hell, I'd settle for the start of the U.S. tracking down the terrorists that attacked us.

As GaVol has said now, "the threat is real".. Of course it's real. It's real because the current administration has done nothing but make things worse. Bush has all but given up on Al Quaeda.

If any of you think that Iraq is going to make things safer for us in the long run, you're not paying attention.

If W has given up on Al Qaeda, with his dad being the head of the CIA at one time, and him being on watch on 9/11, then we are all in trouble and the sky is falling..............

...then explain the 1993 WTC bombing, the foiled "Millenium plot" and 9/11 occurring less than 8 months into the current administration.

Some of the power players seem to be starting to line up behind Fred. Sort of reminds me of the days in 1998 when George Shultz and Jim Baker threw their weight behind W.

You'd think that a guy from Tennessee would need to go get a guy from Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida to shore up the ticket. Although, Clinton pretty much proved that wrong when he picked Gore.

"Fred Thompson may have hidden depths, but ask yourself this: If he did not look like a basset hound who had just read 'Old Yeller' - (ha ha) - and if he did not talk like central casting's idea of the god Sincerity, would anyone think he ought to be entrusted with the nation's nuclear arsenal? He is an actor, and, as a Hollywood axiom says, 'The key to acting is sincerity -- if you can fake that, you've got it made.' "

Seems like there might have been another good president that came from an acting career. Who was that? Something about a coldwar? What wall must come down. You ever think that maybe that actor will go down as a great leader not only in the US but the world.
