Fresh off the Press: McCain suspends campaigning

Not really, I think it will work against him because it looks like he's dodging a debate when people know he doesn't have much to add to the Wall St. crisis by going to Washington. The polls are breaking towards Obama so he had to do something,

it looks desperate.

Not to me. Political? Yes. Desperate? No.

Don't care what the polls say, they do not take into account this move yet.

Does not look like dodging to me. Looks like the ship is on fire and McCain wants help put the fire out. Obama on the other hand wants to have the regular scheduled interview.

Looks like the solution is not coming together as smoothly as hoped. This is clearly a priority. I don't mind waiting a week for the debate.

the whole solution is in the process of being heavily politicized. As soon as the smart guys, Bernanke and Co, have to let the politicians into the fray, the debate has moved to forgiven credit card debt and vehicle loans.

Amazing to me.

Newsvine - Agree or Disagree: Friday's presidential debate should be postponed so the candidates can focus on the economy

Seeing that over 72 percent of the people polled on this question strongly disagree with not having the debate Friday, how is the move going to help McCain? It wasn't exactly a small sample here either, over 150,000 votes for 'strongly disagree' alone.

you do realize that isn't a scientific poll? I have three computers on my home network, so I can vote three times, clear my computers of their cookies, vote three more times, and so on. Imagine what one Obama supporter at an internet cafe or college computer lab could do.

btw, there's a poll at hannity.com that asks if McCain's decision to suspend his campaign was an example of putting country first or a political decision.

81% said McCain was putting country first.

and good luck to you in finding someone who cares enough to try and find it.

I don't care either, I was originally responding to the idea that McCain was going to get some big Sarah Palin like bounce for this move. I don't see that happening. I usually look at realclearpolitics.com for polling since they post all the major ones but posted the other one because it was on my homepage at msn.com.

no offense, but the fox news poll wouldn't be as one sided as msnbc. no "news" organization is as bad as msnbc

You are right about that, I hope someone is not doing that. That is pathetic but you're right, someone is probably sitting at a Starbuck's clicking away right now.

again, the msnbc poll is not a scientific poll and it's results are pretty much garbage unless they've figured out a way to keep people from voting multiple times.

edit: see above. sorry for repeating myself.
