Friday Night Stats for Recruiting Targets/Commits

Dietrich Riley
“We’re 5-0, it sounds good to say that,” said Riley, who ran for 109 yards in 13 carries and had touchdown runs of 10, two and five yards in keeping his team undefeated

I follow STA in South Florida and get to most of their games. They ran a version of the wildcat offense tonight. Here is the rub, SP kept Miramar out of the game. Their special teams don't exist and STA's special teamers were lights out. Palardy kicked off 4-5 times all in the endzone and out, one even went into the band which sits 10 yards beyond the endzone. He hit all his PATs and a 42 yard FG. His punts were unbelievable! Punting average was 49-50 yards. Again, he punts the ball with so much hang time that the return guys can't find the ball as it disappears out of the light coverage. When it comes down they're no where near the ball. He had 4 punts that ranged from 48-60 yards. He kept Miramar in such poor field position, that they only way they were going to score was with the the STA 3rd teamers in. This kid is an animal!

Man, I'm soooo pumped to have Palardy. Honestly, I can't imagine him not having the most impact on our team next year of any recruit (barring injury). We have easily one of (if not THE) worst special teams in the SEC this year and our kick off and punt coverage teams will be helped out so much w/ this guy. Now if we can just get a dynamic return man...

Palardy is def one of my three or four fav recruits!

Marcus Lattimore had 12 carries for 69 yards, 3 receptions for 45 yards and a touchdown, and also blocked a punt in Byrnes 42-9 victory over Hillcrest High School. Lattimore rushed for well over 2000 yards last year, but is not carrying the ball as much this year. I think he likely is going to be a Gamecock. Not sure why a top RB prospect would want to go there, except he has grown up as a South Carolina fan.

Christian Jones: (Monte was watching)
Christian Jones' 50-yard TD run in the fourth quarter lifted host Lake Howell (2-4) past Colonial (1-6) 14-13. With a scout from Florida State in attendance, Jones was stout on defense and was chosen homecoming king.

I went to the STA-Miramar game yesterday and all I can say about Palardy is WOW! Palardy leg is so strong and accurate it's crazy. VOLS you guys are getting a great player.

Yesterday, Ted Meline had a big game in helping North Miami beat North Miami Beach 23-22 for the first time in 10 years. Meline had 3recp 105yds 1td (67) 35.0avg, 2KOR 133yds 66.5avg, and 3 tackles on defense.

STA blows out MacArthur. Palardy hits 6 0f 6 PATs, KOs all into and out of the endzone, no punts or FGs necessary. Go to sunstatefootball.com and look at post from Palardy's kicking coach, Conrad. Palardy hit a 65 and 70 yard field goal at camp. I go to all the STA games. Watched Palardy warm up before 2nd half. Punting the ball 70-75 yards int he air consistently. Makes it look easy. Spoke with his special teams coach for STA and in his words, "Mike could punt in the NFL now"!

Cobbs ran for 152 yards and one touchdown in a 34-13 win over Edison. He also had 137 yards through the air with ten tackles on defense. Next up is Coweta.

Taylor collected 20 tackles with five of those being for loss and forced a game winning fumble in a 29-21 win over lovejoy.
Can't wait for him to get here!

Palardy...all kickoffs in endzone into and with wind. With wind, put one three rows up in the stands at Lockhart Stadium (same field they played Byrnes) 2 for 2 30 + yard field goals, 3 for 3 on PATs and an 80 yard punt. You should have seen that!!!! He punted it from his 20 and put it in the end zone for a touchback!

Don't have particular stats for the Byrnes boys but they destroyed one of the best 4A teams in the state tonight, 72-27. It was 62-13 when Byrnes put the second team guys on the field.
