No! I get information that a recruit has narrowed his schools or commits elsewhere is what I go by. Not about how much interest they're showing. That's not how recruiting works anyhow.

Yes, you want recruits to start showing they like your school & maybe even come for a visit(s) but that still doesn't determine whether I post or take a recruit off the lists.

I hope that you understand where I'm coming from. I'm anal about this stuff anyhow. It's easier waiting to remove a recruit than to go ahead & remove him just because he's gotten lower down on the lists.

BTW, you didn't answer my question from a previous post. Would it be better if I split the 1st post into two posts? I now have post #1-#3 to post whatever I need but I don't think I will need the 3rd post. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

No, it wouldn't be better. What would be better is to stop adding every Tom, Dick, and Harry who we throw an offer out to, and especially stop making so many threads. We offer 350-400 kids every year, but we don't need threads on all of them. Make a thread when we know that the kid has legit interest, because he mentioned us in an article or is planning to visit us. Most of us don't give a flying flip where a prospect goes, who has no interest in TN. This is a TN Vol message board, and recruits who have legit interest in being a Vol are the only ones we care about.

It's ok. He was just trying to provide me with some insight I guess. I do kind of agree with him on there being too much clutter in the 1st post. Freak & GAVol decided to give me post #2 & #3 to allow me more space.

What I'm probably going to do is split the 1st two post up to make it not look so cluttered in the 1st post. I don't know when I'm going to get around to doing that but that's more than likely what I will be doing. Thanks!

It's not a THREAD! This whole thing is called a THREAD! Individual recruits posted is called a THREAD! This is called a POST what I'm doing now. Some of you'll don't even know the difference between a thread & a post. I know what I'm doing in this regard.

Like somebody said, the 1st post is a little cluttered & in the next few days or so I will split it up into two posts. If you'll have anything that means anything you want to add to the discussion like recruits that need to be added or something else constructive feel free to do so but your point about too many threads is different than posts.

I'm not a kid & have done stuff like this from a couple of other forums. It's for pro sports though & not college. I don't care to take advice but what you bring up as a problem is not a problem because you don't even know the difference between what a THREAD is & what a POST is. Thanks!

This is ridiculous! Are you Freak or a mod to tell me how to run this thread? I'm doing what I was told to do & allowed to do. That's make a thread for both COMMITS & RECRUITS! If we offer a recruit a scholarship for 2018 when that is 2 years away it doesn't matter about the amount of interest.

This is turning out just like the NBA top 25 lists that I posted as a topic a while back. There was nothing but un-necessary posts from the entire thread that went for pages. Only one member actually poster their top 25 list.

Everybody else were making up names or posting back silly stuff do disrupt the thread. I had to ask Freak to close the thread because of the mess it created. A simple thread asking for their top 25 NBA players of all-time.

It doesn't matter what you post on here at VN members are going to have something either un-necessary or smartlike to say. No matter what I do to this thread somebody would jump in here & make a post complaining & whining about something.

I'm doing this for VN you guys. Not for myself. Not for my wife. Not for the president of the United States but yet you'll can't be pleased no matter what. Recruiting is an important part of football. Yet, just because I put up a huge list & post every recruit that we have offered or made individual recruits then people have to whine & complain.

It's like babysitting a bunch of children on here most of the time anymore. I don't care for people to tell or give me helpful advice but complaining & whining is not one of those.

I have my way of doing this just like glich or Freak or Fingers would do it their own way. We all are different so please if you don't like it skip over reading all the helpful information I'm trying to bring to VN on the recruiting front. Thanks!

If I stayed on this website all the time that wouldn't be the case though because we have far too many that like to try & destroy people's life just by making un-necessary posts.

I put the information for every recruit that we have offered to date. They will be placed whichever class they're in. Plus, I have paid subscriptions to many recruiting sites that I get information that you'll can't get for me to know a little more about each recruit.

It can't be posted here though because of TOC rules. Trust me, this is the way it needs to be done. I know there's an awful lot in the 1st post. I have now started using the 2nd post for additional recruits that need to be added. What I might do is go back & split those two post up evenly so the 1st post isn't so garbled with information. That is probably the best thing to do.

I will not compromise recruits that we have offered though because of an over-crowded 1st post. I will more than likely just split post #1 & #2 to make things look better.

How does that sound? Hopefully that's ok because like I said I will not leave recruits off the lists that we have offered. That's unless ones that announce they have committed elsewhere. Thanks!

Maybe you could consolidate here with a link, instead of making a post for every recruit. You could also consider having only '17 commits and targets in the first post, '18 commits and targets in the second post and so on. Again, it is just a suggestion.
