Fulmer=Landry

Fanbases took them for granted when they dominated and won the majority of their games.

Fanbases claimed the game "passed them by" when they had losing seasons.

Fanbases clamored for a replacement.

Fanbases thought the firings were done in a horrible way.

Nice job "fans".

Go Vols and CBJ.

You're losing it cheese. Horrible comparison.

The game had passed them both. Did you see what happened when Jimmy Johnson got there?

Championships.

UT has struggled with bad hires since Fulmer, but that doesn't mean Phil shouldn't have been fired.

I know what happened. I just pointed out the comparisons to their treatment up to the end of their tenures.

I must have dreamed those 3 Super Bowls the Cowboys won after Landry was fired.

So what if CBJ sucks and goes 6-6 or 5-7 for 3 years and is fired ?

Will you guys still be standing by firing Phil was a good idea?

It is clear firing Coach Fulmer was not only classless, but a big mistake. Hambone did it though, and what did we really expect from Hambone?

However, we have to hope that every coach will turn out to be the next Nick Saban.

Right now, with the exception of not closing one of the big names he went after this class, it is extremely difficult to fault Butch and the job his staff are doing.

Is he the next Nick Saban? Jury will be out on this for at least two years. Right now though what is clear, you don't fire Phil Fulmer unless you have the next Nick Saban on deck.

Hindsight is ALWAYS 20/20? If you had your crystal ball out and could have told me we would hire Kiffin, he would leave after one year, and then we would hire a mid-major coach with a losing record, naturally, my preference would be to keep Fulmer around.

Without a crystal ball, it seemed to most that Phil had run his course at UT. I will never be a Fulmer "hater" ... he brought UT the only National Championship of my lifetime. I have nothing but love and respect for the man. For years, I was one of those who stated, "he won a National Championship, he should be able to stay as long as he likes". But in the end, I thought it was the right time to part ways with him.

Again, in retrospect, I think over one of the past two years Dooley was around and the East was up for grabs, Phil would have found a way to bring home an SEC East title. But either year, we still get destroyed in the championship game. I honestly believe we have the right coach to get us back to an elite status.

I believe if Fulmer was still our coach, we would be nowhere near Bama or LSU today, or in the foreseeable future, though quite possibly competing in the East. I believe in the next 5 years, Butch will have us legitimately in the hunt for an SEC title.

So ur saying Fulmer wouldn't win another SEC title, but Butch Jones will?
