Fulmer debate extravaganza (merged)

I love how tommy has 0 NCs....
Also, I would like to point out that Bowden and Paterno (coaches everyone would agree and football royalty) both only have 2 ncs (1 more than Fulmer) in 41+ years. Fulmer has a much better win% than both of them while they played no one. Bowden played in the Big East and Paterno didn't even coach in a conference until 93. Fulmer has coached in the SEC all along.

Hat, I commend your mastery of the English language. Nice run-on sentence.

You're defeating your own argument. Making a joke of a coach who owns the Volunteers by saying he has one less NC doesn't work. The point being made is that Tennessee under Fulmer hasn't progressed or remained as high on the national scene since '98. Been to the SEC title game a few times but the team hasn't won it. That could all be soothed over with getting to Atlanta and winning the damn thing.

Yet pounds Fulmer with regularity. Oh, that's right. You don't care how many times an opposing coach bitch slaps Fulamanure. He's a good man who has built a gaudy winning percentage by beating the Vanderbilts and Kentuckys of the world. That's what really matters.

Florida State was never in the Big East. If you don't know rudimentary facts, it's best not to wade into the debate pool.

True, as i said before, i want to win just as much as you, but you do realize there was a 31 years gap between our NCs. Fulmer put us on the level to win it again, just cause he doesn't have 2 in a 9 year period does not mean we should fire him.
In addition I am not defeating my own point, I am simply saying that Fulmer is better because of his NC. Even if put on an even playing field Fulmer has a better win %.
I am in agreement that we need to win more SEC championships, but the fact that he has gotten to 5 in 15 years is a pretty incredible feat in the SEC.

I think he's talking of West Virginia. When he coached there WV was an Independent school, though, not in the Big East which was founded in 1979 WV didn't become a member till 1991.

True my bad Miami was the team that moved over. Regardless, Florida State beat up on a week ACC... The ACC was primarily a BB conference until recently.
Even if you do want to argue that the ACC was a "strong conference" i am sure you cannot possibly believe it is anything like coaching in the SEC.

In the past 15 years Tennessee has lost more title games than they won while the hated gators have won 6 of them.

FSU plays Florida and Miami every year. UT only plays one and beats them pretty much never.

If winning the SEC East 5 times in 15 years is phenomenal, then I suppose Mark Richt is the greatest coach in the history of football. He did 3 times in 5 years. Then again, I think Spurrier did it 6 times in 9 years.

Once again room for improvement. I also said win % and ncs were really most important.

Look i respect all of you and see your position as well as mine. I am in all honesty sorry if i offended anyone, I just do not think a consensus will be reached until something drastic happens. Fighting amongst ourselves is really quite juvenile and in saying that I am pointing the finger just as much at me as anyone else. I am once again sorry for any shots a put out (hatvol mainly).

GO VOLS!
PEACE OUT!

Richt has a higher winning percentage and more SEC Championships. Steve Spurrier has about 50 more SEC Championships and a winning percentage a whole 2% lower.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I'd much rather do that than play our schedule...

Miami probably cost Bowden 3 National Championships. He regularly defeated Florida, who at the time was using Tennessee as a chew toy.

Also, Bowden has more NCs and a winning percentage about 0.5% lower. His winning percentage at FSU is higher.
