Living north of Atl I have often wondered the same about GT recruiting. Prolly the SEC angle, plus the offense, mixed with Atl being a Pro town.(Without any measurable success outside the Braves 10 yr run)

He's just getting some experience under his belt so he can put his name in the hat if and when the AD position opens up in a few years. This is to obvious.

Good News, Fulmer was the last real winning coach Tennessee had. The future will decide if Butch has what it takes to get the Vowels out of the cellar in the SEC.....so stay tuned. I hope the Lady Vols are not UT's only hope for future championships.

I live close to KSU and it's not a bad school. I never understood why Georgia Tech can't out recruit UGA. Tech has so many more options than UGA, but I'm sure Paul's attitude has something to do with it.

UGA is in the SEC. There are about 100 other reasons but that is the main reason.

Vowels? I'm assuming autocorrect. :)

It was an uphill battle in the past mainly because of the Minidome and the lukewarm support the school gave the football team. IF, and it is a big if, they support the team, market the team, and actually want success, there is no reason why they can't be a player in the FCS ranks and maybe somewhere down the line move up to something like the Sun Belt in FBS. They have to WANT that though and need to determine what their ultimate goals are.

Great move by ETSU and Fulmer.

Who better to help get the program restarted than Fulmer ?

Helping rebuild that program can also shore up Fulmers legacy.
This could make him end his career on a good note.

Good luck to Coach Fulmer and ETSU.

It was already "on a good note" Gramps. You never need to shore up success.

Actually, PF is coming up on 63 in September, has no expertise in operating an athletic department and doesn't have "a few years," as you put it, to wait for an AD position to materialize. ETSU will/would likely be PF's "swan song" in college athletics, and not as an AD.

Did they release any time frame as to how long they expect it will take Fill to turn them into Outlaw U?

Was he able to wrangle into his contract a stipulation if they have to fire him he will be able to leech millions of dollars from ETSU? Of course, the purpose of this would only be for showing his loyalty to them.
