I guess I could be wrong up here...
well it's not exactly a secret that the Big Orange faithfull are growing ever more restless, and that is known all the way up thru the administration over on the hill. is that enough pressure to force MH's hand? no, it's not. this is one case where "majority rules" has no meaning. it's left up the very minute minority.

I'll be more than glad to make a wager, in any amount, that if Michigan doesn't win the Big 10 somebody else will be overseeing their opener in '08.

Not to offer rebuttle, but wasn't Carr looking at cashing it in after this season anyway?

I can't see anyone but UM or UW, and MAYBE OSU winning the Big 10...

Penn State Baby. JoPa is trying to get that last title so he can go out on top and not kill shot his legacy. He can't go too much longer. Their going to win one for the gipper.

you would, but you'd be wrong. his seat is no hotter today than it was after the 05 season. the big time money folks still like CPF. MH still likes CPF. until either of those changes, and more likely both, he's just not going anywhere.

can that change, yes. but one game in to the season, losing a game that everyone outside knoxville expected you to lose, nope.

and 7-5 ain't going to get him fired either. it would take a monumental collapse, probably not even capable of happening, even under CPF's watch, for him to get canned at the end of this season.

Bottom line outside the stadium, is that he has always been a stand up guy for the university in every way. His continued employment has deeper roots and politics than a win/loss record. That is almost as big a job requirement with head coaches here than anything else.

I'd say he's gotten it done inside the stadium as well
Career 77% winning percentage and a National Championship.

I still love how people point the the 05 season as his only true blmish. Remember 2002? We were not good then, either. Just had a decent enough schedule to win 8 games, ie a Spurrier-less Carolina and bad teams in Wyoming and Vandy. Oh, and I almost forgot the stellar effort against Rutgers that had us losing 14-7 at the half, inches away from being down 21-7.

Of course, I need not bring up the Peach Bowl that year...

Not to mention the team doesn't have 5 losses, right now, which was the original qualifier.

Weiss has a locked up, favorable contract for him...he will be rich (butt-rich) if they let him go and buy him out..whew! that will be some serious jack. He can get his second gastirc bypass with that buy out.

I think they are characterizing the AD and fan base.

The perception is another year without a SEC championship won't be a problem at UT for Fulmer. None of the preseason mags are picking UT to win the SEC.

Although I think UT will have a good team this year.

Has the trade deadline passed yet?.............Wait! this is not the pro's.........where do we get that good team, Okla?
