If I recall correctly at Hamilton's first press conference after Kiffin resigned, He was asked if he saw any way Fulmer would be back as head coach..
Hammy's answer: NO
Fulmer announced the next day that he was not nterested. Hammy had already made it very clear Fulmer was not being considered.

Burhead: I think Fulmer's name will always pop up when a job becomes open till he get's another job...

The only place that showed any interest in Fulmer was Louisville. They did interview him.
Fulmer let it be known he was interested in some of the other openings but was not interviewed by any of them.

allvol123: I'm in favor of anything that gets him out of Knoxville. His behavior last week was ridiculous.

Agree 100%. It appeared to me that he was working in the background trying to get the AD job with Cut as HC.
Either one or both would have been terrible moves for UT.

I hope he gets the MTSU job if they are showing any interest. That would be a good job for him and close enough that all the Fulmerites can go cheer him on..

I am sorry Fulmer will not get his chance at MTSU, but perhaps LA Tech or ECU would be a better fit. I would like to see Phil move on and we recover some of the six million dollar contract bonus Hammy saw fit to give him.

First I would like to say please don't show up at my house with torches and pitchforks but I think CPF would be a good hire just about anywhere... I think is problem the last year he was at UT I think he was getting burnt out... We must remember he was a really good coach for a really long time. I think CPF biggest fault was winning a NC cause he set the Bar too high to keep on repeating his success.. Just my 2 cents...
OK let the beating begin

Amusing comments from a Fulmerphile. Truth is, if he were such a good coach he would have gotten nibbles from several jobs, yet no one wants him. PF is more interested in personal goals first, not UT team goals. He wants to win 200 games and be inducted into the CFHOF, something which is problematical at the moment. If he ever realizes and accepts that he will have to coach in a rebuilding situation, and puts those personal goals in second place, he might be able to land a job. Right now, he is "tarnished goods." Ego can be a terrible handicap.

I agree that he is a good coach. His problem at UT was that he refused to change with the times. He was afraid to adjust his coaching staff and go after some of the best young coaches in the nation. I feel that he was afraid that one of them would take his job when in the end these young coaches would have saved his job because if he was still winning over the last 6 years then he would still be the coach at UT. Pride and fear got in the way.

Never will happen. He was on the front of the KNS about a business venture he is CEO of. He is still making bank off of his company and his UT buyout why would he take a job like MTSU?
