Apparently Fulmers name has been brought up for UK. Another name mentioned was Cutcliff.

He's been begging for a job for a few years now, I wouldn't dismiss Fulmer out of hand right now, UK needs a lot of things and a name is one. I'd trust him with a team before DD.

Fulmer's done coaching.

Going to UK would ruin his legacy, which isn't that great to begin with.

I've always thought that would be a great job for him if they gave him enough support. The problem - UK will never give enough support to its football program

I didn't know a legacy was defined by only a portion of someone's coaching career.

Ten years is way over 50% of his coaching career.

2 SEC titles in 17 years at UT isn't that great. Sorry.

Who has had more in your lifetime or more period? Majors had 3 in the same time span as Fulmer. I think a national title may trump at least one of those. Some of y'all act like Tennessee has been dominant world beaters when we have our ups & downs like all teams do. I'd take a Fulmer 8-10 win team right now to be honest. I think a large part of our fan base is just dumb as hell when it comes to sports. Y'all wanted Fulmer gone & got it. What's the problem?

Not sure I would consider less than 59% as WAY over 50%, but I suppose that's subjective. However, Fulmer's winning percentage his last 10 years was still 66.94% which, btw... is still good enough to rank as the 12th highest winning percentage among all universities.

Perhaps you don't like the guy... I don't know... but his record speaks for itself and certainly qualifies as a great legacy for UT and any other university for that matter.

Without Cutcliffe: 66-33 (66%) 0 SEC titles

With Cutcliffe (not including 1992): 82-19 (81%) 2 SEC Titles.

Sorry. Those are facts.

Btw here's some real facts. 152-52 in 16 seasons. Since 38-44. Almost as many losses in 3.5 seasons than almost 2 decades & already as many losing seasons. Those SEC championships you speak of, 5 in roughly over 30 years. They don't come easy at all in the toughest conference in the country. As you may be able to tell by now good coaches aren't that easy to find & you don't realize what you got until its gone. You talk about Cutcliffe & he is a good coach but who was the last OC to be promoted to head coach at Tennessee with a 3-0 record as interim coach?

I know you don't remember the '90's, Z. Might want to research. Second most winning coach at UT not anything at all? I enjoyed going to the NC game that we won. Really, really had a lot of fun. Hope you enjoy yours. Oh, wait! Might not be in your lifetime.

Cut has it as good at Duke as Kentucky would offer, actually better. Anyone going to UK would have to realize it's the end of their coaching career. The only types that can win there enough to survive to coach later on are spread offense types that can score tons of points. After a little success at UK, then you take a better job because it isn't a place you will continue long term success.
